JT is about to score his 500th NHL goal. So what that he doesn't get 100 points a year, he's as consistent as it gets. A Cup would sure clinch him a HoF berth, but until then, he'll have his detractors. I'm not one of them. Thanks for the hometown discount, John!

Tavares has been a loser his entire career ? Drafted to islanders who gave him the world and he left them to go lose in his hometown after getting demoted from captain so a guy a decade younger can take his spot.

Great player and even greater person. JT is everything that is great about hockey, and about Canada.
Absolute monster. Nobody works harder in the corners and such great hands. I will always cherish the memories of watching him as a kid with the Oshawa Generals. He brought that crowd to its feet every game. So happy to see him continue to still produce well into his 30's.
sorry i think the leafs signing Tavares was a mistake and we had so many young players with talent that we could not sign to pay him bid bucks screw up the cap and still no cup and to me he was overpaid and never been a star player

He's not the best player, but he's one of the most consistent ever. When he reached his prime, his degression was so little compared to every other NHL player. Credit to Tavares and guys like Crosby and Marchand who also are so good despite their age. Also Joe Pavelski. He was good enough to keep playing.
Easily one of the most respected guy in the hockey world. Even overseas. Fun fact, my son took me to a game a Cpl years ago. He wanted to get a signature so bad but was afraid to seem like one of those pushy fans. So he just lifted his jersey and didn’t say a word. John was leaving and seen him, ran over and signed it. Totally made my son’s day and he still tells everyone about that night. Totally stand up dude, and taking less to stay in Toronto says all you need to hear. Love the guy. So cool to see him getting props from others in the league. Very cool. 🤙
