After locking up Luke Hughes through 2032, the Devils will look to trade Jacob Markstrom, Jonas Siegenthaler, Cam Squires, Mikhail Yegorov, and a 2026 4th-rounder to the Bruins for Jeremy Swayman and a 2026 2nd-rounder, trade Stefan Noesen, Dawson Mercer, Nico Daws, Seamus Casey, and a 2025 5th-rounder to the Sabres for Alex Tuch and a 2026 3rd-rounder, trade Jake Allen, Brenden Dillon, Daniil Karpovich, Matyas Melovsky, and the Stars' 2026 4th-rounder to the Maple Leafs for Anthony Stolarz and the Sharksβ 2026 6th-rounder, and trade Dougie Hamilton, Ondrej Palat, Kasper Pikkarainen, David Rozsival, and 2026 and 2027 1st-rounders to the Senators for Brady Tkachuk and Tim Stutzle, so they will become Stanley Cup contenders.
That contract will probably age well, the last few years maybe a bargain.
