Darnell nurse also had 2 points in game 5 last yr when everyone else was hiding in a locker. He also fought gadjovich. If Bouqchard wasn’t on a power play with 2 generational players would have all those points Tyler? U talk about his points like he’s better than Cale makar… Put Cale makar on the oilers Pp n he would have 120 points
Figures don’t lie but liars can figure…You’ll never see Quinn Hughes or Cale Makar make plays as bad as Bouchard which is why the haters rip into him.
The problem can easily be summed up like this. Bouchard on his previous contract with defensive liabilities softened by the offensive output was acceptable. Bouchard on the new deal, still has to perform in the O-zone but improve by leaps and bounds to justify the cost. So far he’s regressing on the D side
9-10 games we wonder why we have him. Its already been all 11.

Love Tyler passion. But recency bias. And people get emotional and don't look at data correctly.
So hard to argue with stupid u can't . . Bouchard goes thru this phase 9-10 games a season. Overall his 82 games his return on investment is good. But come big games in 7 games series he does well
He should meet his contract and outperform it.
The bridge deal the last 2 yrs he outperformed his contract by a mile. People very selective. Sure he can be better but that is who he is 9-10 games a yr he goes thru this phase. And EDM struggles in Oct. That is who they r . But they bring it down the stretch and playoffs .

I think some Edmonton sports media inflate his contributions during the playoffs. He was not great in the prior finals, and he did create at least two breakways in the Vegas series, and vs. the Kings. This much heat from a fan base is not based entirely on unhinged emotion and brigading. There is enough data to say there's a problem.
Now consider the contracts for Bouch and Nurse and it looks like a BIG problem.

Edmonton lost against panthers and on each game they conceived 3 goals every f**king game with Bouchard being on the ice.
Bouchard has no hockey sense, he is just stupid! You can not fix that. This is the way he will always be. To bad for us.
Bouchard for 10 mill is the worst contract in the league. Probably of league history actually. Can’t stand the guy.
I don’t get why you guys act like the regular season doesn’t matter just because Bouchard shines in the playoffs. You still have to get there first, and constant defensive lapses during the season make that harder. Plus, always having to fight back from mistakes takes a toll on the team over time.
As a pro gamer, and as somebody who has just fallen short of championship status, I can tell you that the pressure to give your best effort every single day, when pressured to play tons of hours, becomes too much. Bouchard plays over 22 minutes a night. He’s being put into situations with drawn up plays that don’t fit with his abilities. He’s being forced to make high-risk plays in VERY sharp positions, where the difference between making and missing a pass is a goal in the back of your own net. The team is OUT OF SYNC. The coaching staff and the players SERIOUSLY need some honest cross-talk. To work together to draw up strategies that click with the players. The best players in the world have skills beyond measure. Their skills can NOT BE translated into winning positions if the team isn’t in sync. The Oilers need cohesion and trust, new plays, and player input, to save this team’s chances. Otherwise, even the best players in the world will find themselves lost against teams that can synchronize.
Oilers have the best offensive in the whole nhl. Don't need offensive defenders just stability and defenders circle around in offensive zone.
He has not been good rn? Since I started watch oilers 3 yrs ago every tournaround to a loss have been because bouchard made terrible plays. A team like oilers don't need an offensive defender when it costs games.

I’m sorry but bringing up what he’s done in the past post seasons doesn’t matter anymore. The fact is he’s getting paid 10.5 mil and RIGHT NOW is costing the oilers points and making 3rd pairing mistakes
He’s already messed up during 10 games already. HE IS NOT AN ELITE OFFENSIVE DEFENCE MAN. He’s only had a point a game average once in his career. His defensive play neutralizes any offence he provides. Nobody can convince me he’s one of the best defence men in the NHL.
You're not living in reality. Most fans aren't. Bouchard is one of the worst dmen in the league. He doesn't drive any play. At all. He is a beneficiary. He shoots. THAT IS IT! He doesn't have one other high end skill. He barely has any other mediocre skill. He doesn't quarterback any powerplay. He's just at the top.
Put him another team. He's exposed.

There must be serious off-ice drama in his life. At $10.5 million AAV, he looks visibly unhappy and cannot maintain focus for forty minutes, often playing less like a star defenseman and more like an unpaid sixth man for the opposing team.
