Othman is the 5th best player on Hartford. Sorry to say that because he is a great dude.
You can teach play and skill but You can't teach size.
Rangers are horrible at drafting and developing talent. That said these kids aren’t going to learn if they aren’t getting played regularly. Otherman played one game and that’s it? Why isn’t 65 or 94 getting called up. It starts at the top and since Dolan isn’t selling Drury is next in line. He needs to go..
The Rangers need to continue to develop a core group of prospects to replace aging vets in the near future. Othmann can be one of those guys if he doesn't start pushing to be traded.
I'm always excited to see prospects called up. We'll see how the new kid does.
I bet not many had the first two call-ups being Othmann and Chmelar.
Like your thoughts re why the Rangers might bring up a guy like Chmelar and then put him in the press box (tho that sure does not explain Othmann's disappearance after one game). As for the actual debut, the Canes are one of the last teams I would choose to play him against — unless he's seriously over-confident and needs a reality check. But I agree it's not likely we'll see him on the ice, with the Rangers coming home on a 3-game win streak and still looking for their first home win.
Othmann will be 22 in January (according to the Wolfpack website) — I saw literally nothing to like about his game last year or this, and it's starting to get late.
Othman is a bust plain and simple , he doesn't have the mustard , send him to get a fresh start somewhere else.
My question is why not call up Bret Berard??? Does Sullivan has something against him??? Is Sullivan afraid he’s going to take Sherys spot??? I don’t get it the kid plays with speed n has spark on he’s game, so why not Berard
