1. Devils Sign Forward Thomas Bordeleau to 1-Year Deal
The New Jersey Devils have signed forward Thomas Bordeleau to a one-year, two-way contract. Bordeleau, 23, was acquired in a trade with the San Jose Sharks and has played in 44 career NHL games. He spent parts of the last four seasons with the San Jose organization at both the American Hockey League (AHL) and NHL levels.
The left-handed shot made his NHL debut with the Sharks on April 17, 2022, and has totaled 107 career points (47g-60a) in 161 AHL games with San Jose. Bordeleau’s 38 points (14g-24a) in 2024-25 ranked sixth on San Jose’s AHL affiliate.
Before his professional experience, Bordeleau played two seasons in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the University of Michigan. He was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2020-21 and led the nation in scoring for all freshmen.
Bordeleau was teammates with current Devils’ defenseman Luke Hughes and New Jersey prospect Ethan Edwards at Michigan during the 2020-21 campaign. He is the son of former NHLer Sebastien Bordeleau.
The signing of Bordeleau adds depth to the Devils’ forward lineup and provides an opportunity for the young player to develop his skills at the NHL level.
