Is Trading Troy Stecher A BIGGER Risk Than You Think

What does the future hold for the Oilers veteran defenceman?

  1. If we don't trade Stetcher, we need to ship someone like Philp or Lazar. For cap reasons

  2. He's a better defender than both nurse and Bouchard. He makes smarter plays. He also isn't scared to go into corners first and get dirty for pucks

  3. Troy Stetcher didn't do anything that contributed when it came down to the wire. Whenever the other team came in on the forecheck, Stetcher just got outmanned. He wasn't physical enough to help get them over the hump. So it's not a huge loss. Because in the grand scheme of things, he isn't the guy that's gonna help the defence in a way we all expect.

  4. Trade Emberson imo because what Stetcher lacks in size he more than makes up with tenacity & plays with heart which is sorely lacking in some of these other defenders & forwards imo. Wow are the Oilers ever missing the kids that they gifted the St Louis Blues plus Evander Kane & Corey Perry. Yet the genius management priorizes aging veterans like Adam Henrique, Jeff Skinner & Viktor Arvidsson and Josh Brown well how has that worked out for us? 😢 This is what happens when a Owner doesn't learn the game enough to evaluate his own on ice talent & their commitment to do what it takes to win along with the stupid hires in the hockey management department & their bonehead moves and this is the result. Trade Henrique & Mattias Janmark & Emberson and send a message to a few other veterans that their no trade clauses aren't as iron clad as they think because this team needs a shake up to wake them up. The Oilers need a elite goaltender and some of the names mentioned lately like NYI Sorokin & Elvis M in CBJ make me laugh & want to puke. Get real. Not trading Skinner for any of them. Besides Pickard is older and someone who can take the net from Skinner will motivate him more than anything else to get a more intensive, firey, attitude adjustment that is sorely missing from that locker room because they need some internal competition & accountability IMO.
