I’m from Calgary…very old rivalry…a lot of talk about this
Calgary and Edmonton are both cities in Alberta, Canada and are rivals in everything (think scotland vs england). The hockey rivalry was at its peak in the 80s as they met in the playoffs alot. Over the years its gotten hot and cold but this year both teams are competative and their were a couple "questionable" hits in a previous game and some he said she said quotes and bang its back on and i love it.
Also the goalie had to wait at centre ice because he would have got an instigator penalty on top of his 5 for fighting

The quality isn't that great but it's sure worth watching. These 2 teams have always hated each other, that's why it's the best all time rivalry in Hockey history! It's one of the best rivalries in all of sports. Do yourself a favor and watch it!
The reason the goalie stood at centre ice is he would receive a 2 min penalty if he crosses it. He wanted to make sure he got a good fight if he took a penalty. When a goalie gets a penalty it gets served by someone else on the team who was on the ice at the time.
Thing is, each goalie played on the opposite teams last year.
Also, notice how most of the fights stopped to watch the goalies go.
The goalie in red had just come in as a sub for the starting goalie. He had 19 saves and 21 min in penalties.(with a game misconduct)
So the starter came back in, and we scored 2 more goals on them.
This game's intensity was close to playoff hockey. An old rivalry that has provided entertainment for years.

Corona ruined this potential amazing playoff series. They haven't faced each other in the playoffs since 1991.
There are two city’s in Alberta Canada that have hockey teams there only separated by 200 kilometres so they really don’t like each other makes it fun too watch
