Sabres Dominate but Fall Short in OT Again w/ Paul Hamilton

Jeremy White and Joe DiBiase are joined by Buffalo Sabres beat reporter Paul Hamilton for a conversation on the Buffalo Sabres following their 4-3 OT loss to the Boston Bruins. They start off by discussing the Sabres decision to start Alex Lyon in last night’s game. Paul lays out the philosophy moving forward for the team. Then they move into the game itself, and discuss the disappointing performance by Lyon that cost the team a point on a night where they dominated every aspect of the game.

  1. Lyon is gonna be worn out by mid-season. He played 30 games all last season. He's at 9 already this year

  2. 4 wins, every 11 games, won't cut it. Adams, better be working the phones on a trade.(UPL, Quinn, Power, Tuch, Kulich, even Thompson??) Something is still off with this group

  3. Mike Tannembaum isn’t wrong at all. If you have problems at multiple positions especially on defense and elite pass rusher can help cover a lot of that up. It’s a shame Auburns finest doesn’t know that 😂😂

  4. It’s the little things that drive you nuts it didn’t hurt them, but Greenway by himself doesn’t cross the red line and ice is the park with like 2 1/2 minutes left brings the face off down in the Sabres end. What the hell are you doing you’re in the NHL? It’s just careless stupid those are the things that just drive me nuts
Bring something to the table, Greenway what do you do well think about and do it if anybody knows let me know

  5. Huffing the highest grade copium my dealer can gets his hands on over 3 straight loser points while the PENGUINS are 8-2-2. GMKA masterclass once again.

  6. While I’m excited that we are seeing improvement on the roster from some of the players that struggled last year, I’m concerned that we overall are worse shots and some of our top line from last year aren’t showing the same growth. I still like Tage more at center— his side shots tend to go either wide or right into the goalie’s chest. I get we want Norris there, but if Norris isn’t on the ice put Tage back center.

Each one of those overtimes has been over in a matter of minutes, and two of them have been us screwing up and handing them the puck after a bad shot of our own.
And really, that’s something we saw during the regulation games as well— we’ve been allowing a lot of breakaways and our ability to interrupt a charge in progress BEFORE they shoot is spotty at best. If we are bad at stopping breakaways during 5-on-5, we are going to be worse at it during 3-on-3.

  7. Sit Power. He was directly responsible for 2 of the losses…and partially for the other one. We need someone (for the love of god) to teach him how to play his designated DEFENSIVE position. Someone that big should not be that passive…
