  1. For generations of Habs fans, the first Western road trip is where decent season starts have gone to die… Maybe not as bad as the Christmas trip to the South, but pretty bad. It's great to see them overcome that this year, and banking these points is so critically underrated.

  2. GHG. Had to expect the Kraken wouldn’t bend over easily… Montour is a beast on the back end for Seattle. He should be their captain. Struble with some massive checks too, his game has VASTLY improved this season… really bringing more physical play.

  3. The first 40 minutes were excellent, holding that 2-0 lead. Beginning of the 3rd started to get rusty, despite that 3-0 goal from Newhook. I'm obviously happy we won and for Caufield getting another OT winner, but we shouldn't have gone to OT. 18 goals against in 3rd periods this season. Still needs some work, despite how good we've been overall.

  4. Suzie just changed his stick curve to a less pronounced one to fit his playmaker better, he is probably still getting used to shooting high with it.

  5. Can we just call that team the Seattle Montour’s?
This player either hates the habs, or loves them a lot, and we should sign him. 😅
I think 100% of his points are against the habs 😂 (but seriously he has 4 of his 7 points against MTL this season). And last season, it was even worst.

Just happy MTL won that game, sad for Dobes’s stats, that most of the goals against he could not do anything (deflections and blocked vision).

Clutch Caufield does it again in OT!!! 🎉🎉🎉

  6. Guys I am a 68/yr. old an d this weekend my wife and I are visiting Montreal for the first time, and we have tickets for Tuesday nights game vs. Philadelphia. Been a Habs fan over 50 years, and was at the 1971 game 7 in Chicago as a 15 year old. Went down on a bus and I’m sure the only reason I’m still alive is because nobody wanted to beat up a kid! Anyway, so pumped doing the tour of Bell Centre and the whole bit. 5-2 on the road is very impressive. We’re going early and I’m going to soak in as much as I can! GO HABS!!!

  7. All three goals on Dobes were screened or deflected. Two off of Carrier — who also leads the team in blocks. Those were three flukes; no reflection on Jakob.

  8. The brother's line Nick (Big bros) Suzuki (Older brother) Cole (middle Bros) Caufield and Juraj (Little Bros) aka the Younger of the 3 brother. Slafkovskỳ

  9. I don't get people calling for Demidov to be put on the top line instead of Slaf. I'm like, why? Slafkovsky's presence there makes it work. He's a big body that wins puck battles and you need some size on the top line. The synergy works well. As talented as Demidov is, that doesn't mean he would improve the top line from Slaf. I wouldn't want to try to fix what's not broken. Slaf is playing excellent hockey right now. And that leaves Demidov being a lethal weapon on another line. It's unbelievable how much better each line is from last year. I mean, Dvo-who? Pizza? Instead we have Zach Bolduc, and now Kappanen, who's been the pleasant surprise of the season to me so far. This team is a dynasty in the making. And I'm totally here for it. All we need to make the team 100% complete is either get a 2nd line center, which could still be Kirby Dach if he keeps playing like he did yesterday in Seattle, and for Monty to find his mojo again. I wouldn't touch anything else on this team, it's nearly a perfect team.

My biggest question mark for 2 years ahead is Brendan Gallagher. He still plays good hockey, but yeah his prime is gone, not sure how to deal with him in 2 years. I'd keep him if he still plays decent by then and is willing to get a team-friendly contract.

  10. I really do not like the shootout, The reason being since it’s inception I have always believed that the scorer should be awarded a goal in their lifetime statistics as a game goal. The goal should never be a put into another category, abbreviation, to somehow say it’s not a real goal.

  11. Great that we got another win, especially a road win, 3 & 1 on the road (and everyone knows it should have been 4&0). With that said we can't ignore the glaring holes. It doesn't say much about our defense that we gave up a 3 goal lead in 10 minutes. Sure at least 1 was a fluky goal off Carrier's stick but if we want to reach the echelon of being a great team, SC contender level, we have to learn to lock the game down. Also we're still effectively a 'one line wonder'. Demidov's line needs to be playing 14 minutes 5-v-5 and if St.Louis doesn't trust them than find another line for him to play on. I didn't get a chance to see this entire game but did catch a tremendous offensive play by Dach, I can only hope that means he played another strong game. I've said it before I'll say it again, I'm looking forward to a Bolduc/Dach/Demidov line. Not trying to be overly negative, I love our Habs and every point is money in the bank, I'm just so stoked with the talent we have that I'm dreaming of the '70s when the Habs were overwhelming every other team, I know we can get there but to do it there's still plenty to address. GO HABS GO!

  12. From what I’ve been to find, it appears that no NHL team has ever won 4 consecutive OT games without a shootout win.
That would give the Habs both the regular season and playoff records.
