They start playing defense they're a force to reckon with.
Officials gave Columbus 3 soft penalties and robbed Isles of a couple in second, and with that the momentum turned.

Great game to be at. Schaefer keeping the puck in leading up to the tying goal was heroic
I predicted 8+ goals and 35+ points for Schaefer this year. He’s already at 5 goals-5 assists-10 points in 12 games. Leads all rookies in scoring, leads ALL defensemen in goals (not just rookies, ALL defensemen). Leads all rookies in goals.
And let’s not forget, he doesn’t play for a high scoring team (though much improved, tied for 9th in goals per game). The Isles have scored 40 goals in 12 games, Schaefer has been involved in 25% of them. They are tightening up defensively the last 2 games, but have given up 42 goals so far, not good, 3.5 goals against so far, and Schaefer has had his fair share of mistakes causing goals against (expected for an 18 year old defenseman). But he’s also made some great defensive plays as well.
Patrick Roy it’s not the best coach
Schaefer is unbelievable man! He’s exactly what the islanders needed. I can’t believe he plays that good at 18!
I could see Lee getting an extension off Darche, as he is a leader in this period and great for the room/culture helping young guns like Schaeffer
Putting Ritchie in the lineup adds more youth and sends a message to the vets. Rittich plays with a lot of enthusiasm much like a Glenn Healy while Sorokin delivered a vintage performance in WAS.
