Kyle is a dynamite "shutdown" winger–A master of dot-to-board play, extremely physical, and prone to few mistakes–A coach's dream & a classic "up & down" North American winger. Very smart at playing his style.
And he even has some offensive upside as well.
The fighting ability is strictly a bonus.
If he wants it badly enough, this kid could possibly make the Kings at 19.
Not a "star" type, but a masterful, rock-steady, role-player whose eventual upside could surprise somewhat.
@notrombones Everything you said was right on. Clifford is playing for LA now and all of us on HF boards love this kid. He's intense, he can punish. His offensive side could use some development at the NHL level but he's just coming into his own. Gonna be a hell of player.
@notrombones Wouldnt you know it, he does crack the roster at 19. The kid is an absolute animal. He's going to be a fantastic two way forward in a couple of years.
I live and grew up down the street from Kyle Clifford. I go to the same school he did. He's very friendly and he was always the guy who wouldn't mind if a bunch of lil kids wanted to play road hockey. He's skilled but the reason he's in the NHL is because he's determined and a hard worker, master if nothing, except fights, but very work oriented
