Elliotte Friedman: Teams Are ALL OVER Nazem Kadri 👀 | FN Barn Burner

Boomer, Pinder, and Rhett react to Elliotte Friedman’s report on the 32 Thoughts podcast that Nazem Kadri’s 13-team no-trade clause has officially kicked in — meaning it’s no longer a full no-move clause. Friedman mentioned that “teams are all over it,” and the boys break down what that could mean for the Calgary Flames, potential trade fits, and whether Kadri’s time in Calgary might actually be running out.

  1. Naz could be a great secondary scorer. He’s competitive and on a Cup contender he will help. He’s definitely has value

  2. Shouldn't be forgotten that nobody was in a hurry to sign Kadri when he was a free agent. Now he's 35 with more term on a $7M contract and teams are All Over him? Why didn't anybody sign him when they could have had him as a free agent for nothing?

  3. Kadri would help so many different teams, Dallas, Colorado, Vegas, Carolina, Toronto, Florida….the list goes on. A lot of those teams may not have first-round picks this year, but it could be the following year or first-round prospects they already have. You 'll likely have to take a contract back but a late 1st, roster player, and strong prospect is not out of the question. Unless you're literally in a playoff spot by the trade deadline, you pull the trigger. You can always pick up another young player in free agency if needed. Anyone in the West who's serious about stopping Edmonton should be all over this move.

  4. Problem with Pinder's argument is that last year was last year and this is now and Kadri's won't score 34 goals this year. So less term on Kadri's contract is offset by lower scoring this season. Pinder is only looking at one side of a deal.

  5. Your so wrong Rhett!! Conroy will only deal Kadri if he asks to be traded and if Kadri does Craig will try and do whats best for both sides. There is alot of respect between Kadri and Conroy and Naz likes Calgary but he wants to win and its looking more and more like a full rebuild

  6. Guys, Naz knows the flames would never trade him to the Oilers. For that reason alone, he almost certainly does not have the Oilers on his list cuz why waste a spot on a team that does not need to be on your list?

  7. If they trade him they shouldn’t do it until the deadline. Then they’ll know if the season is 100% lost and teams going into the playoffs might be desperate for a player with his experience and skill that they might give up more for him. If they trade him it’ll be for prospects and stuff, so there’s no big rush for that.

Either way, l’d rather he stick around. I don’t like high-skill players leaving and I’m not obsessed with gambling on drafts picks like some people are. He gives fans something exciting to watch and that’s not worthless (unless you’re the type to never go to games or actually enjoy watching the games and instead enjoy just pouring over stats).

  8. Trade and retain. MN used their massive increase space on Kaprizov, Cal should use it to retain and dump it later when they are better.

  9. Living in Toronto i can say i have no interest, good or bad in the Flames, yet I listen to you guys because I hear good conversation. Kudos!
