It’s been two weeks since Tom Wilson laid out Filip Chytil with a massive body check. Consensus amongst fans was that, Tom Wilson delievered a clean, hard hit that unfortunately ended with Chytil being injured. But after doing some research, here’s exactly why I believe that Tom Wilson specifically targeted Chytil with a predatory, dirty and dangerous check.

He still threw dirty hits the past 3 years but his scoring threw that under the rug. 23-24 playoff he kept trying to fight rangers players after they scored.

With all of the evidence, sorry but this is clean, Wilson was commited to the hit, didn't leave his feet and caught pure shoulder, what do you want him to do? Stop checking guys altogether? The MOST they could say is it's late, in full speed Wilson was targeting the puck carrier who dumped the puck when he was already about to eat a big check.

Clean hit. Maybe, just maybe if Chytl didn't make himself such an easy target he'd have had a longer career with less concussions. It's not Wilson's job to feed opposing players families. This is professional sports.
It sucks that his career might be in Jeopardy, you never ever want to see that with any player, especially with an injury such as a concussion. You do contradict yourself in this video and your points are shaky at best. You said it is a clean hit, and yes my all metrics it is a perfectly clean NHL hit. If you have the puck, it is your responsibility to keep your head up and protect yourself because it is a contact sport. You said it yourself, Wilson’s role is to be a physical presence, so of course he’s going to lay the body to spark his team. That is his exact role. Doesn’t matter who the player is. You are expecting Wilson to think of every players injury history before laying the body, nevertheless a clean hit? The game is so fast and you have adrenaline flowing, you’re not thinking about who exactly you’re hitting. You also imply that Wilson did this intentionally, which would be quite an accusation. You played a clip of Carbs saying he tries and warns people before he hits them so it doesn’t seem like this is the case. Yes we should feel bad for Chytil but what you’re suggesting means we take out clean hits from the game.
So what's the solution? "Hey NHL players… this guy's an easy target for a concussion so, like, don't hit him hard. Make sure to pump the brakes on this guy cause he's fragile, and we want him to keep playing. I mean, if you have to hit him, ok… but not if you're Tom Wilson. Wilson, even if you hit him clean some dude on the internet is going to be mad at you because you cleaned your game up 4 years ago and used to be a big meanie."

seems like the biggest issue you have with this play is hitting someone with a history of injuries. If thats the case and you think someone with a certain amount of concussions shouldnt be getting hit that hard (which is fair i think that too lol), then you should blame the league thats clearing him to go out and take hits, not whoever happens to give them out

Look I’m a huge caps fan and a huge fan of Wilson and I can absolutely admit he’s been dirty in the past and I’ll admit when he has dirty hits but that hit was as clean as it gets. Wilson’s shoulder went right to the middle of Chytil’s chest. Chytil needs to keep his head up and that’s why he’s always getting concussed. He always admires his shots or passes and doesn’t keep his head up and then stuff like this happens.
