Trading the guy Hughes specifically requested the team go and get when he is having a career season means Hughes leaves and I wouldn't blame him fir it one bit. It's an indication management has given up on the team. If Hughes ends up leaving and we get no return, it's going to be a long decade of rebuilding the team to get back to mediocracy.

I think in life you reward players that produce. Even if you have to take a bit of a hit at the end of their contracts. Rewarding guys like Sherwood is the goodwill in life a guy that refuses to give up. Not sure you can say EP-40 will go through a wall for anyone. Sherwood can and will. And he needs a contract for his family. He is putting it all out there. Your Canadian socialism doesn't work in hockey . Guys need to get paid because hockey is such a short career for most guys not superstars
