Hate the Sabres, but c'mon. I've seen several goals disallowed because you couldn't clearly see the puck in the net even though you know it's there. What a joke
The leafs were denied a goal because they couldn't clearly see the puck even though it clearly went in the net but they allow this? The league has got to be more consistent. I think the Toronto goal crossed the line more obviously than this one did
I mean it's apparent to everyone that it went across the line, but I don't think this situation has ever been called a goal. I can name 4 or 5 just of the top of my head that were ruled no goal in similar situations
just like that "save" by Vasilevsky earlier this year. it's obviously in the net by common sense but it's not "conclusive" therefore it was ruled no goal. the league is quite inconsistent with their ruling
See this is why they need to show the Isles feed. On the Isles feed they show the camera inside the net and you can see the puck cross the line as Lehner makes the save. It also shows that Lehner throws the puck out of his glove and the puck actually hits the back of the post and out. This video just creates a controversy when there shouldn't be.
Ok was this a goal? Yes it clearly crossed the goal line. Should it have counted? No, I can think of two other examples with Tampa and St Louis were a play like this was ruled no goal since they could not see the puck even tho it was clearly over the goal line. The NHL really needs to clear up what “convincing evidence” is.
What is with these teams playing near New Year’s Eve And was this Lehners last game in New York Islanders before he became part of the islanders organization in 2018 summer FA

I'd say that was a goal but I would understand why someone would think otherwise
No goal you can’t see the puck cross the goal line there is no evidence to overturn the call

They could probably see it in the net at 1:04 if you had better quality which they probably do
The overhead video provided incontrovertible evidence that the puck completely crossed the line.

It was a goal but could've definitely been called inconclusive on a technicality. But not for Buffalo. Ever.

No goal
so inconsistent, this should be no goal

It was really close but I think the Isles got a late Christmas gift here. But still what an amazing effort by Lehner!
we need to get better technology asap
@1:19 you can see the puck in his glove clearly cross the goal line….good call….for once.

“Looks like a save to me, who was the team? Oh… wait a minute it’s buffalo nevermind that’s a goal”
Good to see lehner compete but he still really isn't that good….
How about that second save though
I’m a Sabres fan and that unfortunately was a goal. They included the net Cam soon after the end of this video and you could see it over the line
The world seems to be against Lehner
Slow the video down to 0.25 speed and you can see the puck in the pocket of the glove completely across the line at 1:06

1:18 you can see the puck across the line on the glove
This is why we need goal line technology like in soccer
they showed the overhead view of the goal after regulation and it was fairly obvious that the puck went over the line
