The Edmonton Oilers Acquire Brett Kulak & Derick Brassard
The Oilers Fanatic gives you the rundown on the trade deadline acquisitions of Brett Kulak and Derick Brassard and gets you set tonight’s game against the Colorado Avalanche. #LetsGoOilers
Interesting trades made across all teams. Minnesota looks extra scary now, Talbot and Fluery along with everyone else. Hopefully the Oilers trades work out.
About time ….LoLoL……(honestly kidding but was curious on your take my friend)….Ya Patrick I agree and not knowing the inside story, why wouldn't he do the best that was available, it is pretty easy to criticize from the outside looking in. I was relieved, as you were to find out half the salaries were retained, made far more sense. I think Kulak coming home could elevate his desire, and on the Brassard deal well ya hope the move will make him want to increase his desire as he mentioned being tired of moving around…I guess time will tell, the price was reasonable given our cap situation…we shall see ….but I do know Ken has forgotten more about hockey than I know so…as stated I think he did the best he could….
Absolutely the net is still a concern. Good adds, but Kulak was too much. Brassard will be an excellent 4C, that’s nice. Laggesson wasn’t cracking our lineup anyways, best wishes to him in Mtl. Hope Skinenr comes up.
I don't trust fleury in any big game situations anyways. Guys, look at all the goalies we passed on since kosk took over. Boissant is getting lit up, dubnyk isn't playing, and talbot just got one upped. Smith and kosk are our guys, accept it. They give us chance to win 2/3 rds of the games
Well done Patrick. Your videos are getting better and better. As for the trades. It was an overpay for Kulak, and a good depth move for Brassard. An immediate problem is what will they need to do with Archibald? Do they have him "suspended" for all the games that need to be played in the US?
Thought Holland made some good moves since he's been here, was they all perfect? NO but decent. People are always gonna cry and bitch about oh that GM sucks. I dare anyone to name a perfect and proven GM! OK then stop bitching and being so Toxic.
Considering the little cap space and not wanting to give away the future for a team that is not deep enough to win the cup (I hope I’m wrong) I’m ok with what took place Lagesson was not part of the future and was obviously not happy . Hopefully the additions can help the push to and into the playoffs. Trade deadline is like Christmas. All your wishes can’t come true but there is always hope. Keep the vids rolling.
Don't think a great goalie addition was out there, best would be during off season. Plus it's hard to even get a goalie back for either kosk or smith, y'all make it sound like it's so easy to trade them, this shit ain't on ez mode. Give Ken a break, did what he could.
I'm happy we got Kulak, wished we could've added Soucy and Braun, but whatever. Brassard for a 4th rounder is nice. I thought Holland could've done much more, getting another tough guy and do a 1 for 1 trade, but it is what it is and overall I'm fine with it for now.
Having that extra D man is obviously important as we all know any injury on the back end could be devastating. At this point it’s more about keeping the puck out vs scoring more goals, time to put the playoff pants on!
overall i'm ok with the deadline, teams like wild, NYI, and sharks asked too much for their goalies, bright side is that Oilers didn't trade a 1st for chiarot or a 2nd for lauzon and they still kept their prospects

Kulak was an overpay even with the cap retained.
Brassard was reasonable, but not a huge difference maker.

Things still up and down like toilet seat tho 😂 🚽
The only thing that makes me mad about holland today is he didn't clean out 1 or 2 contracts to give the team cap space
Great trade two players that have size and tuff players ! I wish they were able to move forwards like Nuge and Yamamoto
I love these grey Oilers hats, they're so nice

Don't mind either trade have to wonder if something more was there and that's why the retention on both deals

Was there not a 7th round pick to Montreal in the Kulak deal as well? I did read that on one of the feeds.

I like both deals. Kulak brings good versatility. I love Brassard centering the 4th line.

"F" were is a goalie!
