That Indian Wells match against Nadal was just incredulous. It just didn't seem real the winners that Federer was hitting off of the backhand returns

Federer is the true GOAT, which his perfect serves , masterful footwork, volleys that look like they can out of a masterpiece painting and a forehand that could beat a hypersonic missile. Federer just didn’t play tennis he reinvented it in a big way for all generation to remember they he will always be regarded as the great GOAT to have ever played the game. I remembered watching Federer playing Blake on TV. Blake wasn't playing bad at all. Roger just made him like a rookie.
just watched Sinner destroy everyone at AO to win back to back titles playing at a high level but there was no sense of majesty or artistry to it, there is something about Fed that keeps you watching

A stat that isn't often mentioned that this compilation might hint at and explain is the somewhat remarkable difference in how many bagels (and when) each of the big 3 experienced.
Federer has suffered a bagel (0-6) set FIVE times in his career. THREE of those were in his first full year as an ATP player, 1999, where he was 17 until his birthday in August.
Since then? ONLY TWICE. Once by Nadal in 2008 French Open final, the other (somewhat sadly) in 2021 in Wimbledon quarters, the match that turned out to be his last Tour singles match. 21 YEARS near or at the top of the sport for TWO bagels.
Nadal – 15 times, 13 from the year where he turned 19 (2005) with the last in 2018.
Djokovic – 13 times, the first in 2004, so 10 times from the year he turned 18 (2005) with the last in 2022.
So if you take it from the year each was 18 at the start of a calendar year (i.e. the year they turned 19)
Roger – 2 in 22 years and handed out 95
Rafa – 13 in 21 years and handed out 119
Novak – 10 in 21 years and handed out 106 so far
Take out the age qualifier and it's 5/15/13, which adds 3/2/3 back into the count (hurts Roger's record the most as 60% of his were in his first year).
They're all insane records of course, but Roger's is insane even compared with the other two.
Which begs the question: WHY THE DIFFERENCE?

People forget how untouchable Federer was in his prime. Even if you put anyone else at their absolute best, Federer at his peak was simply on another level. The movement, the shot-making, the mental calm… it was pure dominance. You weren’t just trying to beat a player, you were trying to beat perfection. True god mode. We’ll never see anyone like him again
