  1. You're an idiot … you literally said he lined up the check, thats charging at the very minimum which we have seen 5 minute major charging penalties…… wilson knew what he was doing … and your synopsis changed every 10 seconds of your video

  2. Chytil admired his bounce pass off the boards and got smoked. Wilson hit through the body, no head contact, no elbow, no stick, and didn’t jump into him. Scott Stevens would have been proud.

  3. Counter point Wilson had enough time to see the puck leave possession and not hit him so it was a late hit. It is a NHL hit, but to say it is not late is like telling the cop you didn't run the red light because it turned red as you approached the intersection. They could have called a minor for interference and it would have been a fair call.

  4. I’m a Canucks fan forever, and I’m sorry to say… Wilson just executed a good hit. If he was half a second later then penalty, but he timed it perfect. It’s unfortunate for Chytil, but he was admiring the pass. Chytil gets his bell rung frequently, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the end for him. Guy is concussion prone. Sucks cause I like him. Hope he’s ok, but doesn’t look good

  5. Always had mixed feelings about Willie, but that was a clean, hard hit. Sadly, it waa Chytil on the receiving end of that one. Given his history of concussions … the concerns are valid. Hope Chytil gets well soon.

  6. Easy way to stop these hits, just have to tell the other teams captain, you play the tom wilson style and we will head shot your goalie all nite long…. which is what they need to do to that slug, clean hit or not.

  7. at worst, this is a 2 minute minor for interference if they deem it to be late, which is borderline. No head contact, well executed hit. perhaps slightly late, but Chytil with zero awareness and admiring his pass. Hope he is ok, but people calling for any supplemental discipline and calling Wilson a POS are clueless

  8. Here’s a video with a time breakdown for those asking. Many have said it’s for sure late, but what standard are you using as a measuring stick?

  9. Willy has come a long way and it’s good for the NHL and the Caps that he seemed to take player safety’s advice from the past.

  10. Ofc it`s late. Play is elsewhere and Wilson is 3-4m away when the puck leaves Chytils stick. The hit itself is clean, that`s a new for Wilson.

  11. Nope. WRONG!!! In fact, I can't believe how wrong this assessment is. The technique and the line of travel are utterly irrelevant. This was an egregiously and flabbergastingly late hit, the epitome of why late hits are outlawed. Chytil's history with concussions (this hit might be a career ender) is not relevant, nor is Wilson's history of assholery. This is just one incident, taken alone and on its own nasty merits, that stands as a perfect example of what a predatory late hit looks like. Major penalty and suspension should have ensued.

  12. Someone please check out the Tyler myers goal from this game. You can see Wilson come in and try to hit karlsson in front. On the up-close replay you can see that Wilson clearly leaves his feet in an attempt to hit karlsson.

I noticed it originally in the weird nhl vol.126 @ 7:06.

I want to be clear I think the hit on Chytyl was very clean. However, mix the attempt on karlsson plus the tries at Garland and you have a player that only cares about hurting. A lot of this guys hits don’t even make sense game-wise. Even outside of this game. There’s a difference between an enforcer and an asshole. He’s a player that always has intent to injure if you ask me.
