  1. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Bogosian clear waivers in order for him to be sent to the minors? So every team in the league could have claimed him for free. He wasn't claimed because he makes far too much money for a 6th or 7th defenseman. He has 1.68 million left on his annual 6 million deal, which made him untradable. No playoff teams looking to buy have that kind of cap space for a bench player insurance policy who quite frankly sucks! But now that he's a free agent, there's a MUCH BETTER chance someone will take him if he'll take a league minimum deal. If you were Boston's GM Sweeney, would you even trade a 7th round pick for a depth guy who is gonna sit on the bench and each up 6 million in cap space? That's why Boston traded Backes! Dead cap money.

  2. Your analysis is spot on. Canes might pick him up considering that Pesce was injured last night. And with Hamilton out, Canes need another defenseman. Rod would make Bogo fly straight though.
