  1. IMO, Reichel leapfrogged by Lardis. Slaggert or Dach will also be leapfrogged by a prospect like Spellacy. And 2/3 years down road they cycle will continue. The hope is Frondell will leapfrog a vet like Burakovsky. Rinzel over Jones. Lev over Murphy. Greene over Dickenson. Moore over Mikeyev Lardis over Donato. The real rebuild is having drafted prospects take Top 9 and Top 4 positions at NHL level. So far IMO, the Blackhawks have managed 2 Top 9, 2 Top 4 D, and a Top Goalie. Reichel unfortunately didnt show enough and was recycled. Its gonna happen again, and again. Future is bright with the ton of “replacements” we have on the way in near future. Not all will stick, which is why we still NEED some vets and a couple top All-Star type FA. But some prospects will. Keep rebuild mode on.
    Commit to the Indian.

  2. This is why Bedard is a generational talent. All he needed was players to get him the puck and shoot more. How many times do we have to hear criticism or calling Bedard a bust fans complaining that he’s not generational. He responded right after that disappointing loss to the Kings. He puts up 4 points and a hat trick and a lot quicker than Kane’s first hat trick. If Bedard plays well the team plays well and if they fix their 2nd period issues then we they can play a full 60 minutes consistently. This team has learned to adjust when things go wrong and Bedard took control and the team followed through and we got a needed time out from a coach who knows how to handle a young team. Hawks will be just fine. I have full faith in the rebuild. There is absolutely going to be issues but at least they are mature enough to find ways to get back on track.

  3. I know it’s just the beginning of the season so i wont get my hopes too high, but so far it feels damn good especially because of how miserable last season was

  4. Bedard is good, but I am not concerned that he becomes the leading scorer in the league some day. I'd rather we have 10 above average forwards with a couple game breakers sprinkled in. Stats are nice, but performing when it counts is what it is about. Hope they surprise us and stay in contention for a wild card spot this year. It would do wonders to feed the hunger for the subsequent years. And each spring we add 2 or 3 new players with high expectations, the more fuel for the fire will be stoked for the next season, just as it was last spring and now this season.

  5. Good point about number 28 having a good game. He is a good stick handler in close quarters and I think Bedard is excited to play with him.

  6. I love the demeanor of our coach. Not too high and not too low. A perfect example for the players. I feel like we are watching a cake being mixed and stirred together and once done baking, something wonderful is going to result. Go Hawks!

  7. By the end of this yr..Bedard will have more goals by a player under 21 than ANYONE in Blackhawks history…even Eddie O., Kane or Toews..

  8. This was just a game when things went Bedard's way, I don't see any difference in his effort in this game compared with the others. He's developed so well during the offseason and is now a more complete NHL player. Chicago is looking like a more complete NHL team again. Man we've gotten through a tough stretch of rebuilding and development but it feels safe to say we've gotten through the toughest part about it now and it's so good to see! Let's go Hawks!!!

  9. Brand new Blackhawk fan here (been away from hockey for 30 years, or so). This is a fun team to watch, and I'm looking forward to following them on the way up.
