Got closer to the cap floor, liked lafferty when he was here and got our russian translator for demidov. 2nd rd pick cherry on top👍
This trade in no way should affect the offseason fa signings because these guys are basically 3rd and 4th line fillers, definitely an upgrade over the stiffs that were there the last few seasons.

To get 2 serviceable players plus a 2nd for only a 4th rounder, that’s a win.
That's the law of the land. Those that have cap space take. Those that don't have cap space get taken. During the Cup years the Blackhawks had no cap space and slowly had to disassemble their team. Seeing players like Teuvo Teravainen, Niklas Hjalmarsson, and Brandon Saad get traded was sad.

Hawks did not fleece the Canucks! Mikheyev was way overpaid for his low production level. Hopefully for him & the Blackhawks he does better in Chicago. Lafferty is a good catch. But the Canucks have much bigger plans.
CHI probably has the most expensive bottom 6 in the NHL to go with the least expensive top 6 in the NHL. Great priorities for spending.
