  1. Absoluetely what Jesse said about Hutson and Demidov wanting to win. They are always doing whatever it takes, not just controlling the pace of the game by holding the puck, but hustling to back check, even without a stick sometimes! All the work they did last summer in Brossard! These young stars are leaders, and I would put Dobes in that category too…like that play where he tried to move it forward and the ref said "no no." You can't teach this to people and it is what will set the Habs apart as these guys mature.

  2. Fowler will be the #1 in the net. That being said, we won’t see him in the NHL for at least 2 seasons.

  3. all the daddy long legged injury prone players gone ( reinbacher, dach, laine) their leg/torso proportions just don't work. its' why skinny european guys can't play in the NFL. not made to last. they should switch to long distance running.

  4. Hard to take anyone out of the lineup? I strongly disagree, Dach and veleno aren't providing very much whatsoever

  5. Logan Thompson might get Monty’s spot on team Canada with his stats in net this season… even last season he had great stats with the Caps. Unless Monty gets back on track soon

  6. Take it easy with the predictions. Remember last year they were terrible until the Xmas road trip. They are doing well right now but we can't depend on overtime wins to carry the team to the playoffs. Also, the ref's are not going to let the Hab's win the Atlantic division! Watch and see!

  7. If Shersterkin can get lit up by Sharks , we should give Monty a few more games to shake off , it was against the freakin Oilers , not a lottery team

  8. zharovsky is too green to be tradebait when Habs dont know his projected ceiling. Hage definitely would be a diamond tradebait but with his family history of family's favourite team, fathers tragic passing and he speaks French I do think there is little to NO desire to move Hage. That said, his right shot does in a way hurt the roster as Montreal is desparate for a LEFT SHOT, top 6 centre iceman or at least a top 9. Newy seems to be handling all leftside puck drops for Kapanen but that is just slowing Kappy's faceoff experience. Canadiens are far too rightshot core dominate. In fact Newhook is the closest Centre as a core player they have that shoots left. LAST 5 CENTRE DRAFTED:
PAUPANEKIS, MOONEY, HAGE, KOIVU,,,,,ALL RIGHT SHOT
ERICKSON only LEFT SHOT but has already transitioned to the wing in Sweden's SHL
SOMETIME BETWEEN NOW AND TRADE DEADLINE IF STILL IN THE MIX THE CANADIENS WILL TRADE FOR A LEFT SHOT CENTRE. I WOULD BET ON IT!!

  9. Monty and Dach for a solid 2nd line center. That's a solid trade offer, Hage is on the way but we can fill that spot now. Fowler will be the #1 soon and Dobes will be a fine #1 now till he's ready!

  10. Habs games are too close…low team grit-defense!
Bolduc, Kapie & Arber need more ice time to develop! Hage might be the 1C in 4 years. He beefed ups to 200 lbs….muscle!
Rushing now to find a mature complimentary 2C is not good. Too reactive. Hughes shouldn't have traded Heineman, & two 1st round picks to the Ilse for Dobson.
Heineman is tough like Hyman but a better skater and shooter on the rush. Would have loved to see him with Demidov. Now he is rocking the 1st line with Hornet and our pal, J. Drouin.

  11. I'm less inclined to think the Habs need to make a deal. A quality 2C would be a fantastic piece of the puzzle however I'm concerned it would cost too much and mess up the team vibe just as they are starting to gel. The early indications are they can dominate the play although the close scores don't show it. They gotta fix the defensive brain farts. Thanks Guys.

  12. 2026 Lines
    1: Zharovsky – Demidov – Kapanen
    2: Caufield – Suzuki – Bolduc
3: Gallagher – Evans – Anderson (best third line in the league)
    4: F. Xhekaj – Veleno – Newhook
    Slaf & Laine traded

  13. The "problem" with Dobes is his style is more suited to the regular season than the playoffs. We really need Monty to get back on his game for us to make a deep playoff runs.
A trade for a 2C needs to obtain an established NHL productive youngish centre. This will be a very costly trade.

  14. Give Monty a break.. you need at least 2 goalie's for the season. Fowler needs a bit more Laval time and is the 3rd. Monty played a huge role last season and should not be thrown to the wolves for a few bad starts.

  15. Monty needs to settle down. I like the idea of playing the hot goalie more ,and putting the other goalie in when there is a favourable matchup to help get them back on track. I dislike defining who is number one or two. Have them earn their starts. A little competition is good.

  16. Monty needs to focus on the here and now. Not the Olympics. Veleno is just a guy. I am trying maintain some patience and hope for Dach on the wing. Needs to play bigger every shift not now and then. Still, no need to:make a move just to say we did.
