The New York Rangers have officially hit rock bottom… 10 games into the season and the Rangers are still winless at home, sit at the bottom of the league in goals scored, and seem to lack any sort of identity despite playing well defensively and getting league best goaltending. Is it possible for the team to turn things around? Or is it too late? Let’s find out together. Subscribe to Jimmy Hockey for more NHL News and Breakdowns.

Idk about anyone else but I saw this coming from a mile away
I had them 7th in the metro
I for one fully predicted this
But the problem might be a poor relationship between the front office and the players. Drury has without a doubt been ruthless in forcibly trading guys like Trouba and Goodrow who were leaders in the locker room, and I've heard the theory that the players are playing poorly to get him fired.
As a capitals fan I absolutely predicted this. They haven't been able to develop a drafted prospect in 10 years. They relied heavily on the power play in that presidents trophy season, and outside of that have been pretty mid at 5v5 goal scoring depending heavily on a super star goaltender and reliable back up with quick up puck moving defensemen. It's pretty poetic going from the dumb chirps rangers fans had after that sweep to seeing them PLUMMET to the basement.
If New York Rangers are to keep going with their dismal home form as they have right now, they will finish the regular season with just 8,2 points (8 rounded down) in their home matches.
Away matches wise, they are projected to pick up 57,4 points (57 rounded down), which would be the second highest in the shootout era, only behind the 2014/15 season when they picked up 58 points.
Cellar dwelling teams, mediocre goalies, players in scoring droughts…
All hope and dream of playing the Rangers at MSG.
Up until the last 2 games, our D, the 4th line and the goalies were fantastic.
Suddenly all 4 wheels come off.
Will coaches just watch as they did last year, or will they dare make serious changes?
Sit nonperformers. Call ups and send downs. A Kids Line Berard-Laba-Othmann?
I’m here from the future
I can tell you that this is not rock bottom yet, it gets worse
I blame most of it on J.T. Miller and his captaincy and production. He was getting on Petey’s case for not producing as much as he normally does and that genuinely affected Petey’s mentality let alone play more than anything else. It’s a good thing that Miller is completely gone from Vancouver because now Petey is actively producing where he should be. Now look at Miller, he is in the exact same spot Petey was at in the sense where Miller isn’t producing whatsoever. All of this was brought upon Miller and he refuses to take any responsibility for the team let alone his production. What a terrible captain as well because given his past behavior and current leadership role, he is a disgrace.
