The Edmonton Oilers will play the second of back-to-back games on Sunday against the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena. Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and Evan Bouchard have combined for a grand total of ONE goal at 5v5 this season. They need to get going offensively if the Oilers want any chance at success moving forward. Here is today’s Pre-Game Report! #oilers #edmontonoilers #nhl

Wallman is there best D man
Coaching and upper management need to grow a set and take the C from McDavid cause he hasn't shown up and hasn't shown leadership
No top 5 goalie, coach is nuts, McDavid is done, why watch anymore?
Montreal and New Jersey both exciting to watch. Edmonton frustrating and boring
Fire knob.
This is not hockey anymore. Its just business now. McDavid should have taken 20 mil x 8 years
Bowman / Jackson continue to destroy this team. But why?
If tonight is a bust, I am hitting the panic button.
They have to do something with Bouchard, my god its shameful, send him for speed skating lessons he can never recover after he pinches in, velcro blades
Knobs is not letting them play, too much line changing, how can he coach well doing this, players need to read each other and Knobs is not giving them a chance to gel together with their linemates
Hoping the Oilers smack around cry baby Hughes… Hughes wants out of the Canucks … heck Canucks can have nurse, we’ll take cry baby Hughes 😎🤪
Would you really feel good beating a team that's half AHL though?
Did you get a chance to clank beers with Liam and Tyler last night ? Great dudes and your friendly competition haha. Also shoutout to OilersFanatic – he should have been there with the party too !
We're a work in progress and I'm willing to give this team the time and patience it needs to figure it out. If we're still out of the playoffs by December that's probably when we need to start reaching for the panic button.
GO CANUCKS GO even tho i think the oilers will win. We need Thatcher Demko, Quinn Hughes, EP40 and all our top guys to be at the top of their game tonight.
DAAAAAAA DODGERS LOOSSSSEEE!!!
Good luck at the Game?
The forwards aren’t the problem,
The goaltending isn’t the problem,
Defense is the problem, Oilers design a defensive core based around being able to generate offensive off of defense, so far the oilers defense can’t make a breakout pass and also can’t defend, it’s almost like we need a complete rebuild on the defensive core based around
a win or tie tonight gives them the best start in 3 years, a loss ties them for the best start. these are statistics that may require a doctors prescription for depression/anxiety meds
A lot of ppl forget, not only the roster had major changes AGAIN. The coaching staff has changed a lot-def coach, pp coach, goalie coach. It's hard to say that it's only the top d pairing at fault. I'm not well versed in the technical side of defensive strategies, but it looks like the breakout is not the only problem. Teams are keying in on pressuring Bouch at their blue line to get a rush chance on transition. We still have problems defending the quick strike odd man rush. Normally Ecks is back there to mitigate those chances. I'm not sure if his foot speed is the problem, or if the defensive strategies in the O zone need revision. We seem to have both dmen well below the offensive blue line when possessing the puck, and I think we get picked too often there. And that leads to chances against at worst, and less O zone with possession at least. This whole thing just reminds me of last year in a different way.
I hope they can win tonight but I don’t know… team been boring af to watch for most games
Have fun Austin!! 🫡🆒
4 1st round picks and a free 10.5 in cap space for a far worse than average defender as a DEFENSEMAN should’ve been a no brainer
This can’t be the team expected to make it to or through the playoffs.
Needed to say this! Mcdavid and draisatal are so frustrating to watch right now, so lazy and Mcdavid is so unselfish it’s selfish. Shoot the fucking puck and we have a win
Skinner can’t do it. I am finally realizing that he can’t do the job he was supposed to do. When he’s hot ,he’s hot. When he’s not,he’s terrible. Team needs a goalie who can stop a puck from getting in the net. Sorry Stu. Picks is my pick now.
Knoblauch needs to start letting lines play more than a couple of minutes. I think the team is slowly but surely getting to where they need to be, Knoblauch is kinda just slowing it down further than he needs to by the constant line blending. Oilers 3-2 in OT. I would like to leave October with atleast a .500%
Send Frederic to the minors, make Nurse a 4th line winger and get Regula back in there with Walman instead. Then Hyman just need to whack McDavid, drai, bouch and Ekholm over the head with his stick so they remember how to play hockey. The cup is ours 💯
Shuffling the line-up way too much……c'mon Knob do your job and quit shuffling every line. Don't you have practices ??? that's where you can try changes and set up 2 teams to see how each team does…..then if you get a possible group that gels the stick to it….Let the chemistry take hold…..
Panic! The Mammoth are top of the central (not complaining but wtf) Seattle is good in the standings (Again not complaining but wtf!) Knobs need to stop the Blender. He is not allowing chemistry to develop. Ugh losing my mind, and two of my four teams doing well. Stu is looking better so is Picks, but our early wins were because of the goalies. You Cannot rely on one person to win a game.
Who is coaching the Defence this year,McFarland, Stuart and Knoblauch ? No wonder why the Defence has been terrible this year. They miss Coffey.
After having watched whole bunch of hockey games on Saturday MDT, I watched only a portion of the Oilers-Kraken game. That part of that game that I had watched, I could tell the Oilers were going to have a difficult time beating the Kraken. When I checked the score of that game at some point on Sunday MDT, I had found out the lost by the Oilers had been in regulation, but very close at 3-2. The Oilers would fall behind against the Canucks and come back to tie that game, only to lose 4-3 in OT. No doubt not a great weekend road trip for the Oilers.
