When an enforcer carries your team…

Ross Johnston just played the best game of his career — and it had everything. The Anaheim Ducks enforcer turned playmaker finished with a goal, two assists, and a fight for the Gordie Howe hat trick, marking his first multi-point game since 2022 and the best night of his NHL career. From setting up Troy Terry and Beckett Sennecke to forechecking his way into every play, Johnston was everywhere in this 5–2 win over the Nashville Predators. Leo Carlsson, Jake Trouba, and Radko Gudas all had key moments too, with Gudas earning his 200th NHL point. A career night for Ross Johnston — and maybe the spark the Ducks needed heading into their next matchup against the Boston Bruins. #nhl #anaheimducks #hockey #nashvillepredators

  1. I just loved that on Preds feed they called Ross tough but unskilled only ten seconds before he scored.
    He sure showed them tonight

  2. If Ross can keep using his body to push away the opponent from the puck. His assist total can be a career high.

  3. The main thing that stuck out to me last night was just how stress free the game was with us in the lead. The start to this season has been so stressful with us playing catch up every game. I loved seeing Ross play so well too he’s been pretty noticeable under Q so far, what a great game!

  4. Moving Terry down the lineup really helped. Not gonna say Q is a difference maker because I was at the Chicago game and was wondering constantly about lines but that was such a great example of finding a good mix.

  5. Going to the game tomorrow against Boston! Can't wait! Let's keep the win streak alive! Since I've been going to the games against Boston at TD we're 3-1 on their ice

  6. Well deserved first star and 5 points for Ross. And gudas in the third pairing was much better. Mr go for the hit, lose his stick and unable to defend leaving to a free goal.

  7. So yeah, didn't expect Ross Boss to just go off randomly. Probably woke me up more seeing him do this than us winning!

  8. Love the speed and closing the gaps. Ducks just kept coming and coming giving the Preds no room to get their game going. We need to clean up the passing. We’ve improved our game overall but the passing needs to be better. I’m glad Terry got his first goal of the season cause that kid has been a ??? in games. Lack of confidence is his Achilles heal. Love the win…let’s go get another one in Bean Town. Go Ducks!

  9. Big Sheriff Ross is the perfect 4th liner. Doesn't run @ like an idiot taking penalties and uses his presence more often then straight brute thuggery to keep teams inline. Similiar to Parros. I've always felt he skates and competes well especially for his sz. Glad to have him dressed most nights. 45-50 games feels bout right for the season, even if someone w better O upside like Cogs has to sit here n there, we need Big Sheriff on the bench/ice. GO DUCKS

  10. Great win outworking the Preds 5 on 5, but the PP diminishing game by game is a tad worrying to be honest.

  11. Gordie Howe hat trick on Tuesday .. and then watched Gordie Howe's grandson (Travis) on Wed in San Diego !! Travis is a great ambassador for the SD Gulls – he is always interacting with the kids in the stadium and gives away pucks leaving kids excited every game night!
