Macklin Celebrini Makes NHL History With Second Hat Trick

Macklin Celebrini scored his second career hat trick to lead the Sharks over the Rangers 6-5.

The second-year star added two assists in San Jose’s first win, with the second being the game winner by Will Smith, his first goal of the season.

Celebrini became just the 15th player in NHL history with multiple hat tricks before turning 20.

Macklin and his two hockey-playing brothers grew up in North Vancouver, where their mother would drive 5-hour round trips for high-level training.

He joined his older brother at Boston University, where he became the youngest player ever to win the Hobey Baker Award for college’s best player.

After that one season, the Sharks drafted Celebrini first overall in 2024 and he was named to the All Rookie Team with 25 goals.

Adam Gaudette opened the scoring with 100th career goal.
