Klapka hit on Whitecloud – Tough Call Recommendation
Adam Klapka did nothing to avoid going through the back of Zack Whitecloud, and made no attempt to soften the degree of impact. There was no call on this play.
Vgk knew exactly what he was doing. You see the shoulder check, he knows there’s a guy there, and white cloud shows his back to him. He makes no attempt brace for the check, which is something that has become necessary in modern hockey, as refs have been more lenient on hit from behind, particularly if the player being checked actively shows his back. If you go back to the game v Edmonton, there were plenty of hits like this one, but resulting is no injury because the player braced. Whitecloud saw klapka, put his back to him, and didn’t brace, Klapka, layed the the check after Whitecloud touched the puck, his hands were low, and as you said, he drove through the core. Hockey is still a dangerous game, and injuries will naturally happen. If you aren’t prepared to take that risk, don’t play.

It was a clean hit from a 240+ pound guy. If that was any tone else whitecloud would have been fine
Horrible take. Absolutely abysmal take. This isn't baseball!
