How much interest is there for Tony DeAngelo? | TSN Hockey

With Tony DeAngelo clearing waivers on Monday, how much interest is out there for the defenceman? Darren Dreger joins That’s Hockey to explain the latest from New York.

  1. At minimum he lands in the KHL and still makes more $$$ per year than most people do in 10 years. Anyone who thinks he is totally cancel cultured is kidding themselves.

  2. Toronto maple leafs trade him for engvall and retain all but 1M and tell him to shut his mouth and play. Then leafs trade Kerfoot and Dermott for Sam Bennett.

  3. It's possible that a team looking to upgrade its powerplay might trade for him as a powerplay specialist, giving him bottom-pair minutes with a purely defensive partner. Like a tempermental Marc-Andre Bergeron. Ideally, the team would have some tough locker room leaders that would teach him how to behave himself.

If he doesn't smarten up, demote him, and then expose him in the expansion draft or buy him out if he isn't selected.

  4. Zero interest in him. Also the environment in the Rangers locker room needs to be addressed. The way the Rangers are coached by Quinn needs to be addressed. Wrong Coach for this young team.

  5. Lol there’s tons of interest. Don’t take my word for it. He’ll be in another jersey within a week.

  6. Conflicted, my team really needs D-men but really don't want this on our team and risking the atmosphere, still though seems like he needs some veterans to teach him same basic team etiquette and maybe he might have a chance to come back to the nhl

  7. That was short lived. Anyone relishing in cancel culture of Tony DeAngelo will be sorely disappointed. TSN's Darren Dredger reports last night on "Insider Trading" after the first period of Montreal-Vancouver game, that there is a ton of interest in Tony DeAngelo all of the sudden and he will be traded within the next few days, possibly in a deal with other assets with Calgary for Sam Bennett. He will be in the NHL sooner than later.

  8. A guy with that many issue will not make it back. He was given chances and is just too stupid to realize the opportunity he had. Anyone that takes him runs the risk of screwing their team up.

  9. Hopefully he’s done for good, how many more chances does a player need. The NHL needs to set a standard, any team trading for this douche is setting their bar pretty fkn low…

  10. Anyone who trades for this guy is a disgrace. DeAngelo is a racist punk with severe maturity and attitude issues. Instead of improving as he gets older he gets more and more unstable and out of control. He should be booted from the league if NHL GM’s have any decency.

  11. So what is it that DeAngelo did that was so "toxic" besides get into a scruff with a teammate (which has been happening on ALL NHL teams since the start of time)? He broke his stick after a penalty once? How come we never heard he was such a "cancer" last season? Ahhh, wait a minute…this all started after he came out and supported Trump. Lets keep it real: This is political bullshit. DeAngelo is not a "cancer" we just have an IDIOT for a head coach who doesn't know what he's doing, and now we've lost a talented player because he "couldn't deal with it". Fire that moron Quinn now.

  12. TDA a real player. Look at the “commissioner” that should tell you all you need to know. Because someone doesn’t subscribe to a bullshit agenda they get labeled “locker room cancer” by a bunch of total imbeciles on YouTube

  13. what did he actually do or says ? I know he had a fight with georgiev but this is the only info ive got
