I’d rather lose games with Poitras/Blumel/Lysell on the 2nd line than washed up players like friggin Viktor Arvidsson and Sean Kuraly.
Sweeney’s roster management and FA signings are to blame for this lineup. Lindholm is not a 1C. Zacha-Mittlestadt-Arvidsson are barely a 3rd line on other teams, we have an abundance of 4th line grinders. The Bruins’ FO and their roster ideology needs to hit a complete reset. The modern NHL roster is composed of speed and skill and the Bruins FO are clinging to the Big Bad Bruins era which isn’t working.
The Bruins FO is completely delusional if they think they’re making the playoffs this year or next. Best case scenario for this franchise is getting Sweeney fired so a newer GM can draft with this modern speed/skill toolkit. Maybe they can get some decent draft capital for Zacha and other pending FA at the deadline and land in the top 3 of the Draft Lottery this year
The way I see it is there's two factions on the ice at this point. Pastrnak is default captain of the forwards and McAvoy for the defense. Pasta has done a lot to rally the offense. McAvoy has done… well… I have nothing kind to say about his efforts. McAvoy with zero hits in the past 3 games says everything. I don't even know how that's possible given the ice time he gets and the fact that he's billed as a defenseman. He should be stripped of the "A". Give it to Zadorov instead.
No matter what at this point, Sturm absolutely HAS to break up Lohrei and McAvoy. He can't healthy scratch Mittelstadt for lack of compete, but keep that top d-line together. Feels like the team is lost, top to bottom, and if Sturm can't make bold moves to address situations, then this season is as good as done.
So Scott, it all adds up to Sweeney. He needs to go, and so does Cam.
Pasta will be 30 in May. 35 when his contract is up. He will want out to win a cup.

Fire the General manager that lied to our faces and said this was going to be a playoff team. This roster is terrible and wont make the playoffs and Sweeney knows that. He wont let Sturm have any control of the roster and he knows we, the fans, will just take it and keep going to games. We should stop going to games until Jacobs wants to take his job seriously and when we do go to games, let the fire Sweeney chants fly. Or you can expect more seasons like this and more ticket increases.
Its getting tougher to watch this show. Scott just takes up air time not really saying anything important. Bridgett and Scott tip toe around trying not to offend the front office so they don't lose there press passes. Brian is the only trying to be honest about what he sees. I agree that Lohrei needs to be moved; Lindholm should be on the top pairing when healthy. The McAvoy-Lohrei pairing is not working. However, the Bruins and the fans need to face the fact that we do not have a true number one goalie. We are losing by 1-2 goals. A real number one goalie steals you half of those games. We are scoring, even the depth scoring, more than we ever thought we would. Arvidsson and Jeannot were ridiculous signings. It is time to bring up the young players, some of whom should never have been down there in the beginning (Poitras, Blumel), up to the show. Zacha has been more than fine (+1, 9pts in 9 games).
This is, by far, the best Bruins podcast there is. Thank you all!

I like this team more than last year, competitive and interesting.
take #6 off Lohrei and give it to Hampus who I'm afraid is the new Gord Kluzak.
They dont work hard consistently, they go lazy for shifts and they are not talented enough to make up for it. The go to work and tie games and then give it right away. They are not completely bought in and lacking a real leader.
Our offence has not been a problem. The problem is defense. MASON Lorrie is horrible at defense. I know it’s not all on him. But he is not an NHL defenseman.
Lohrei is the worst defensive d-man out there, but all of them have been bad at times. So many times the only guy in front of the net is a player from the other team! Somebody has to stay home AT ALL TIMES! This is something that they need to start doing all every minute especially when the puck is in there own end.
You say all this with higher ticket prices explain that to me

It’s called this roster sucks! This is what happens when Cam and Don acquire a bunch of scrub fourth and third liners and don’t get any real talent for the defense. And they think they’re going to make the playoffs?😂😂😂 You guys want to blame Sturm, go ahead and go fire him and not fire the real issues with the team. I’m glad Marco Sturm spoke out about the roster issues after the game, he ain’t wrong, this team sucks
