dk j1q I get managing the young kids playing time like Ben Kindel Harrison and Philip Hollander but why do we keep rotating goalies every single game? Do you know the reason for this Tristan went out there and has a great game on Saturday and I felt that silovs played a great Thursday whatever happened to riding the hot hand
👻
Win, lose or tie this team has been fun to watch so far this season. I know it's early but let's go.
If the NHL really wants to grow the game and challenge MLB, and the NFL the officiating must be severly upgraded ! there is no way in hell the officiating is on a par with the talent like mcdavid ,drisatel, crosby , panarin, pasternack to name a few superstars in the NHL that most sports fans do not know ! and that oldtimer philosophy among officials that if one team gets 3 power plays then they must call 3 "phantom" penalties on the opposition !
Where is Villie K??????? It doesn't list him as injured. WHERE IS OUR BEST YOUNG PLAYER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just wondering 13 million they have in cap space, could u buy out a player?
Yes DK, I agree with limiting Kindel and Brunicke to 60-65 games. But, where's Koivunen and what's wrong with McGroarty to be out still?
Is it possible that the reason they don't want to spend the money is because they have contracts coming up that they are anticipating re-signing? For instance, players like Novak?
Tbh I'm looking for any way to spin the lack of spending into a logical explanation
I wouldn’t worry about Corsi or any advanced analytics. They’re playing more responsibly… not pinching recklessly and giving up odd man breaks… and that is going to mean they are going to retreat at times and not go after every loose puck. Plus, they aren’t as talented as their opposition on most nights … especially on the blueline… so they are going to have to find ways to win that doesn’t involve owning the puck.
The one thing about load management, is that Geno looks really good when he comes back from a short break.
DK – You've mentioned in the past how sending young players back to Juniors can be detrimental and lead to bad habits for players who are too good to back. Can you please elaborate on that? This isn't a challenge, I'd just like to understand better.
Lets face it. I know it's early, but this team clearly isn't the team that most pundits had them breaking the record for fewest wins ever.
Thank you DK, Those younger players need to be NHL ready, so I was surprised but not totally surprised. Just need to be patient and wait and see. Great show DK
Hahaha maybe the organization would consider giving Sid and Geno a rest but let’s be honest, Sid and Geno ain’t gonna sit out games if they’re healthy 😂😂
Rust lacking form and us getting stiffed constantly on penalties has a lot to do with our low shot output. Seemed like we were never on the PP the entire California trip!
Really excited by the start to the year DK. Hopefully they can keep the momentum. I’m not at all an expert in hockey Xs and Os but for my J1Q, does it seem to you like the penguins forecheck has been much better to start this year? It has to me, and I was wondering if you could speak to why that might be. I especially notice it with the big boy lineup on the ice. Love the show as always
I was just thinking that 4-2 isn't the best start. But then the past few years, we keep saying the pens turn it on too late in the year. Gone are the Thanksgiving, Christmas, trade deadline marks. You have to start good and stay good or you end up fighting the hardest right at the end to get in to the playoffs. I say we be super stoked about 4-2 and hope they can keep it up, as thats the name of the game now. I'll take 4-2 start in an olympic year as well.
Dk, when Rutger comes back, would a line of rutger, Ben, and Ville be a possibility for the third line? I feel like the kids together would be an amazing thing to see. I’d also like to see Broz on the team soon.
While I agree we're unlikely to see fully healthy veterans scratched for rest, I think we're already seeing in game load management for everyone. The time on ice distribution, forward and defense is WAY more even than I can ever remember it being. That's how you manage load without sitting veterans, and how you give young guys a chance to develop
This team is playing with energy, hopefully this team can continue to keep their energy at a high level, they are fun to watch compared to last year.
Good morning DK. I’m curious what you think we should do with Matt Dumba and Connor Clifton. It seems like they are worth playing or trading, but scratching them seems like a waste. What do you think? -Dylan
