No 35/100: Malkin fights Wheeler out of respect

For No. 35 of 100 top NHL moments, Steve Dangle looks back at Evgeni Malkin answering the bell for a high hit in their previous mathcup, and chucking knuckles with Blake Wheeler out of respect.

  1. I forgot that Tostitos is the one who got into a fight after Geno

AND NO STEVE I HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN THAT BONINO LEFT US

  2. When you don't recognize either name of two people fighting, you know they're the fourth line enforcers rofl

  3. Leafsnet
Winnipeg jets have the 2nd overall pick Patrik Laine and leafs have the 1st overall pick ( Auston Matthews❤️) and they had a game where laine scored a hatty against the leafs on the Winnipeg jets team which means it's basically about the leafs

  4. Let's be real, Malkin fought less out of respect for Wheeler, and more out of self-preservation (he knew the Jets were going to run him until they got him).

  5. So sad the liberal idiots who don't even watch hockey are trying to get this banned out of the game. Hockey just doesn't feel the same with less and less fights every year 🙁

  6. As a jets fan I gained a lot of respect for Malkin for agreeing to the fight. It shows class.

  7. Sure, it was probably mostly self-preservation but you gotta hand it to Malkin, he stepped up and dropped them when he understood that was what it would take to square things. Plus, he admit that the hit on Wheeler was not pretty and seemed to understand why they'd go after him for it. For instance, Sid would probably just whine and land yet another of his cheap shots…
