This power play…… bednar is 100% right about it its terrible. All we needed was a better 1st,wedgy to play a bit better and to CAPITALIZE ON THE POWER PLAY and we win this game
That power play is absolutely horrible. Nobody in the NHL is scared of the Avalanche power play.. 1 for 8 tonight and I think only 4 power play goals on the season out of how many tries. I dont rhink the new assistant in charge of the power play was the answer.
Unlike the Nuggets who had a disgusting choke job OT loss-led by Jokic-thats a great OT loss (tie) for the AVS. To come back from 4-1 down to that team was awesome. Carolina is tied for 1st in Cup odds with Florida and Edmonton-we are tied for 4th with Dallas. Wedgie was due for a bad game but Minor gave them a chance to get a huge point. Yes the PP is absolutely infuriating (Carolina could say the exact same thing). And yes gimmicky OT,& SO…it sucks to be 0-3. But it's also mostly dumb bad luck past regulation. But I'm far more happy about the comeback on that great team,& Minor,& PK allowing us to survive the end of regulation than upset about a dumb,arbitrary shootout. AVS (& Carolina) are too talented not to fix their PPs eventually. I get as mad as anybody but anybody making grand proclamations about a brand new PP coach in Haxtell after an 8 game sample size is foolish,& probably not very knowledgeable about hockey.
It is funny how dumb fans like me keep screaming to put Nichuskin on PP1 since…oh since at least game 3 vs Dallas! If we can see it…but anyways. It will come around but how we are playing 5 on 5 should scare the hell out of the rest of the West. All this with our #2 goalie starting every game,& a garbage PP that won't keep misfiring to this awful degree. But for any spoiled,moronic fools who wanna bitch about this or that-THEY ARE ON PACE FOR 134 POINTS…OR AN NHL RECORD-SO RELAX! If you'd told me we would have no real losses through 8 games-I wouldve taken it in an instant without even knowing the particulars,our OT record or how many actual wins we'd have. No OT loss is really a bad loss CUZ ITS NOT REALLY A LOSS SINCE YOU GET A POINT! But there are "not very good" OT losses,average OT losses,& good,& great OT losses. AVS have 2 great OT losses this year(Dallas,& Carolina)-& 1 good OT loss in Utah-despite getting screwed in that game. And fortunately for the AVS…EVERY OT LOSS IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN A REAL LOSS! Unlike in the NBA where every OT loss sucks worse than a regulation loss,& the Nuggets just suffered the worst you can possibly have.
Love Mac but his comments about the fans not knowing what a good power play looks like aren’t aging very well. 30th going into the game at 11%, probably worse now.
