Very similar scenario to Columbus last year
If they are in playoff position they have no need to add because what they would give up would be way more then what they would get back. They have way to much talent at Rockford and throughout other leagues. Play it out this season see what happens.
I don't want to hear anymore talk about adding veteran talent. With our talent pool and the guys we have on the ice coming into their own, we have a shot to be a truly organically built powerhouse. Just let the talent develop and everyone calm down. Spencer Knight is anchoring this team right now. He was my only question mark this year and to me, he is the best goalie in the league at the moment. This road trip will be a good test to really see where we are at.
While they aren't done with the rebuild, they are past the point of hoarding draft picks. So, getting rid of Murphy or Dickinson for lower draft pick seems unnecessary, and a chance to play meaningful March hockey is more valuable to the young players in the lineup. Now, if we are way out of it again, sure give Murphy and Dickinson a chance to play some playoff hockey.
Nothing wrong with keeping some vets on D. How many games can Knight cover mistakes. Keep Murphy and maybe add another better one

With all the time Murphy has vested with this team, I would think he’d prefer to stay if we’re on the cusp of a wild card playoff run. Who would have thought this might be a possibility 2 weeks ago.
This last draft is all we need to finish the team too manny great players to pass up
