I know Spence is a big hit right now but stocks on Jenny keep rising. He had a nifty little dance move behind his net to shake an attacker today that had me saying "ok, ok, okaaay" — you can see him trusting that hip more and more with each game. I think there was just so much damage done by the pair in those first 4 games though that it's gunna be a while before the fans let up on him. Kleven-Matinpalo… I just miss that pair from last year. It's so hard because Klev clearly plays better when he's out there with his old linemate. Unfair to 10, really . Such a hard situation for Spence to be in because it's not just about his play here so it's unfairly out of his control. Injuries happen though so I expect to see him sooner rather than later. I would actually like to see him on one of these road games — see how he matches up when the other coach gets to decide who they want pressuring him — as he benefited so much from making his debut during all our home games.

Ully is just getting better and better. I was never out on Linus though. Batherson being invisible isn't new. I hate that he just feels no need to develop a B-game. We saw his lack of stewardship out there last year when Brady wasn't scoring/injured from 4N and Pinto and Norris were also hurt — without the proper support around Bath he's just not doing a whole lot of anything. I'm never excited to see 19 hit the ice. I'm sure he brings a lot to the team behind the scenes but I need some tougher love on him. The sprain excuse can only last so long.

Eller's pass was sick. I still think the better world would have been to simply pay Hockey Gaud and have him on the wing on that L4 instead of having players like Poor Cous in the linue (certainly our scoring first issues wouldn't be here) but that Lyck-zEller-Lund line has a pulse to it. Fabian isn't getting on the score sheet the way we want but he's working so hard out there. I like rooting for that guy and his effort.

Feels like they got more to the structure from last season but still a few times with bad turnovers and holding the puck too long in their own zone but that was good progress. We've needed more from Batherson for 3 years now he is what he is a disengaged skill guy he's gotta go at some point before he needs that new deal. I thought Eller had a great game tonight and he's been a fantastic 4C for this team so far

still some passing issues and sloppy mistakes. overall it felt good but montreal is clicking so well i don’t understand what happened… postseason was solid last year for us.

It was an improvement but we still need to get it together. I’m happy with a win, but I’d be happier once we start truly dominating games start to finish.
