Recap: San Diego Gulls vs Colorado Eagles, 10.22.25

The San Diego Gulls battled hard but couldn’t solve goaltender Isak Posch, falling 2–0 to the Colorado Eagles on Wednesday night at Pechanga Arena San Diego.

Colorado struck early, with Danil Gushchin finding the back of the net just over two minutes into the first period. Despite several strong scoring chances, including a team-high 10 shots from Yegor Sidorov, the Gulls couldn’t capitalize, as Posch turned aside all 26 shots he faced for the shutout.

San Diego continued to push in the third, pulling goaltender Ville Husso late in the game for the extra attacker, but Tristen Nielsen sealed the win for Colorado with an empty-net goal in the final minute.

Husso finished with 26 saves in his Gulls debut, while San Diego’s penalty kill went a perfect 5-for-5 on the night. The Gulls will look to bounce back when they return to action this weekend.
