Flyers Rumors: Owen Tippett to Buffalo? Is Brière Eyeing Top Defenseman??

The Philadelphia Flyers could be in the middle of another major trade discussion — this time involving Owen Tippett.

According to Dave Pagnotta, a few NHL teams have “kicked the tires” on Tippett, and one of the more intriguing fits could be the Buffalo Sabres, who are looking to replace JJ Peterka after moving him earlier this offseason.
Could this open the door for a blockbuster involving Owen Power or Bowen Byram? And where does Emil Andrae fit into all of this?

In this video, we break down:
Why Buffalo might target Tippett
What kind of defenseman the Flyers could pursue
How Andrae could be used as a trade piece
And whether Danny Brière would actually pull the trigger on a deal like this

If you’re a Flyers fan, Sabres fan, or just love trade talk — this one’s for you.

  1. Tippet is playing really well..

Is this innuendo and drama going to be all year?
I was actually happy the Sabres won the other night thinking this's bs would stop.

Every Flyers podcast is now like listening to TMZ.

  2. This is a deal Tippet / Andrae for Byram that actually makes sense. Condsidering the two bumbling front offices….it probably doesn’t happen….lol

  3. Misset had 20 goals last year and he was used in every possible advantageous offensive situation. You’re insane. He’s just about to turn 27 and a clown who can’t hit the side of a stadium not alone a hockey net.

  4. I see Tippett and Andrae for krebs and Byram. If Power…krebs and him for Tippett, Andrae, and a first

  5. We've heard this before, and I feel it is a lot of people trying to WILL a trade to make the Sabres better. He is a good second/third line winger, and he will be that anywhere else he goes and the contact will great. However, Andrea being traded may actually be a think will happen, but the Flyers do not need to trade like a team that is desperate. other teams are really pushing the caps space and if they are the teams that should trade with desperation. I think for rebuilding the defense the only way to go is trading picks and trading for great players that want a big contract but can't get it from their current team, like Makar.

if all goes well, the 2026 Flyers will have the 4th most Cap space at 46.7 million and a TON of great prospects that can take over the forward positions for the team. This leaves a focus on the blue line and Goalies.

  6. W seriously need to stop giving no trade clauses on these contracts. Only great players should get NTC

  7. The last thing the Flyers need to do is lose a fast young winger for another Defensemen whose made of glass I swear this franchise is always moving backwards history has shown the foward/defensemen trade the team taking on the D man ALWAYS LOSES THE TRADE ! Look at Gauthier vs Drysdale… the martlet values forwards more, byram isn’t anything special. This will be a bad move for Danny I hope he doesn’t do it.

  8. I don't want another injury prone defenseman. Flyers got burned badly in the Cutter trade so they need to win one this time. I'm expecting Tippet to have that break out season for the boys. Thirty goals are attainable. I don't want Byrum who's played a full season once. Power for Tippet is more oranges for oranges.

  9. Don't worry Flyer fans, our GM is stupid to make a trade like this for a player we need and with a good contract. Instead he make a deal for another injured player or another 4th liner to put in the top 6.

  10. absolutely noooooo!!!!!!!! tippet is a solid player, shows up every night, and we have defence coming ,in oliver bonk and spencer gill

  11. I trade Konecny before Tippett the value of Konecny is better and I believe in the upside of Tippett more than Konecny, little bit younger faster and bigger 🤔

  12. what did they do with the big 7' defenseman? Just like Bobby getting rid of the best players for possibilities instead of proven

  13. Do I want to see Tippett traded ? Sure, on most days because he's so frustrating to watch. He taps in an easy goal during garbage time of a lop-sided loss, then he goes 0 for 7 chances either HIGH-N-WIDE or MISSED THE NET attempts during both of the next 2 games. Hence the nickname "Owen the Missed It". His on-net shot inaccuracy rate has been among the league's worst for at least 3 consecutive years. Why ?

  14. I’m torn on this because Tippett to me has consistently been 1 step forward 2 steps back. So hot and cold. So I’m not opposed to trading him, but I don’t think the flyers should rush into anything either.

  15. Really like 1 more season & tank the hell out of it for the best chance of winning the McKenna lottery.

If they were to trade Tippet it needs to be a deadline move to be able to squeeze the most out of a team. No way to Byram though!

Flyers could’ve had Makar at the 17 draft instead we drafted Patrick which was a complete bust & completely foreseeable! He was injured constantly his entire juniors career & put together 6 months at the end.

Hoping Porter works out, but Hagans fell into their lap at 6th & passed. Reminds me of 19 draft where we needed a scoring winger & they could’ve taken Boldy at 11, but traded to down to 14 to take York & passed on Caulfield. 🤦🏼‍♂️

  16. I would like the flyers to keep him but…..

They're paying him a whole lot of money and he's really not producing.

Look what's going on with Mechkov…. He may have a high hockey IQ but he doesn't skate very well.

  17. getting rid of Tippett would be one of the biggest mistakes they could make after Bobby was made GM and got rid of a Stanley Cup team to a lackluster constantly "rebuilding for 20 yrs" team. When Tippett is pretty much your #1 goal scorer how does it make sense to trade him?
