It's more like the scene at the end of Anchorman. I hate you Sydney Crosby but boy do I respect you.
Once he matured, I started respecting him a lot for what he is. As an athlete who has also had concussion issues, him coming back from those and staying great was huge for me personally. I also like that he’s not just some superhuman athlete who’s 6’8 and can jump out of the building…he’s someone who perfected his craft the hard way.
All that, plus the fact that Giroux became friendly with him made it easier for me to like him. Now I root for him (if all else is equal).

I just cannot dislike a guy who does all the off-ice community things that Crosby does, both in Pittsburgh and back home. I can boo him in person at a game, in Philly… but I can't actually dislike him.
