Even though we are early into the Edmonton Oilers Season, the team has looked sloppy at points this season. Evan Bouchard stood out most during his performance against the New York Islanders, turning over numerus pucks and allowing high quality chances. Steve Peters joined Tyler and Liam to breakdown what is wrong with Bouchard’s game and why he expects Bouchard to bounce back.

How thick is management ? Bouchard is a winger, put him in the top 6 and let him use his skills. It can't be worse.

Both Bouchard and Nurse are overrated, over paid players who can't play defense. This was made very apparent in last year's playoffs against Florida
Bouch actually played a tougher game than he has in the past. He went into corners! He stood up to players. But made horrendous give-aways…which he does when teams forecheck him hard.
Hey take Bouchard off the line with McDavid and lets see how he does. Like everyone else who plays with McDavid they shine. I also like that you guys are looking at his play.
I'm thankful for your help with watching Bouchard. Then there's the other problem with Skinner. I hate in a shoot out with Skinner in net. BUT with both players they are hot and cold . Then team needs better.

It blows my mind how thy re-signed the liability on the ice known as Bouchard , I guess management didn’t see him give games away literally by blowing coverage or giving the puck away to the other team both years in the Stanley cup finals .

The cope in Edmonton is insane. Bouchard was exposed by Florida and it continues into this season but Oilers fans keep stretching to find excuses for bantam level mistakes made by a 10.5 million dollar player. There is no bounceback for him. The entire league have a book on him now. An aggressive forecheck and pressure will continue to rattle Bouchard to make mistakes and as those mistakes grow during the season he'll get more desperate in his play leading to even more mistakes.
And the Horvat play was not lucky. He saw an overload (3 Islanders vs Drai) and immediately moved to open space to allow the outlet pass that sprung him. Only Oilers fans, who know so little about hockey, would think that play was luck.
Seems like a $10.5M-a-year, zero-D Bouchard is playing for the other team yet again this season. Keeping him is a huge mistake. No passion, no defensive effort at all, no excuses … he’s basically a $10.5M sixth skater for the opposition. He did exactly the same in the Finals, being the Panthers’ 6th man.
No Bouchard only struggles when every player on the team forgets how to shoot…….which is quite often.
Butchered, Skinner, Nurse…. divest and get grit! Butchered is a major problem… move him and get a bag of pucks with a #1 goaltender who doesn’t give up the puck like Skinner and Butchered…
media keeps looking for ways to support the player, the mgt… being apologist's. But the fan comments have it right. He is a massive liabilty for any team.. every game huge negative risk.. combined w some positive offence….. but 4×10.5mil… is so absurd. This is not the first time he makes these errors – he has been playing this lazy sloppy not skating not in position stuff most games for 6 years.

Excuses .. 10,850,000 per year = $904,166.00 a month = $30,138.00 per day = $1,255.00 per hour = $20.93 per min every day of the entire year /season.
And we get NO MOTIVATION NO EFFORT rather unnecessary self sabotaging game loss intentional harm inflicted every game on to the team repeatedly draining motivation , teams efforts to win undermined , teams excitement to hustle to try from players /team/fans/city …. to only be 4 steps back for no good reason ? Seriously .. is it just some of us that seen this movie too many times to just , sluff it off?

It's time to give him a move . make him a RW FORWARD winger with Connor, NO MORE DMAN SHIFTS EVER He may score more , but won't cost direct goals against from here on. Seems only positive change that could make a difference to make sense .

That shorty isn't on everybody…. it's on Bourchard. When guys float to the center of the ice for a breakout, the last D man back needs to recognize that and stay behind him, don't worry about holding the blue line. That was a set play by NY.
