I can't even believe how good Brazeau has been, I admit I was a doubter when the Pens signed him. His current point pace probably isn't sustainable, but still, he's been fantastic.
i feel it too early cause we have good easy games in october and also we have not have back to back games yet also like for me if they like this and there in playoff spot by end of december then we could say this team could be playoff team
13,000 was pathetic. The crowd was too sparse for two milestones to happen last night. Little embarrassing. But I'm loving how the Pens are playing. And the young guys are getting a real shot under Muse.
I enjoyed listening to this one. Sounded like Canucks were tired, so the win might have come a little easier, but the team responded well after that first shot curse. And seeing the 3rd/4th line depth for the first time in awhile!
In typical sports fashion everyone was quick to judge Dubas (based on Toronto media). negatively.
The reality is that this stuff takes time to turn around and, in my view, he (Dubas) will absolutely turn this one around.
Look at the Penguins lineup, specifically, at their draft picks:
Kindel: Shows awesome bursts of speed and has a wicked wrister. (He is getting better)
Brunicke: Smooth skater, nice shot and, like Kindel he is getting better.
Hallander: Slowly taking a hold and you're noticing his presence in key spots in most games.
Free Agent Signings:
Brazeau: Signed for this year AND next @ $1,500,000.00. He is 27 years old. SOLID pick up and maybe a long term solution outside of the draft.
Blake Lizotte: Does anyone have anything bad to say about this 27 year old? (His presence can be felt on every shift he is on the ice).
Connor Dewar: Same as Lizotte above.
Oh yeah, we have Koivenun and McGroarty in the wings too.
2026 Draft: 1 first round pick, TWO 2nd round picks and TWO 3rd round picks.
2027 Draft: 1 first round pick, TWO 2nd round picks and TWO 3rd round picks.
They also have about $12 million in cap space.
My view, my bottom line: The future looks bright for the Pittsburgh Penguins and, if we can get a Letang, Guentzel type of steal in one of these 2nd and / or 3rd round picks we have coming up, just imagine.
Let Dubas cook and be patience as this is a rebuild that MAY be happening in front of our eyes.
Good stuff, as usual !… no doubt about, there IS a new vibe to this team…so many things so far to be excited about… 4th is playing incredibly well, 2nd line is not too far behind, goals are coming from all over the place, this team is much more aggressive than in years past, and the list goes on and on… It is going to be very exciting to see how this season unfolds, so many storylines
These Pens are out to prove something and I love it. I love the energy Muse and the rest of the coaches are bringing to this team. So many people reported that Dubas brought in Muse so he could have an inexperienced “yes man” on the bench. No matter how many times Dubas refuted the initial report from Friedman that “the Pens are the only team not trying to get better”, reporters and media continued to scoff. Kindel was a “galaxy brain reach” by Wes Clark and Dubas. I’m overjoyed that the Pens are sticking it to opponents, playing with a lot of heart and grinding out wins. Even if we lose a few it doesn’t feel like this team will skid like they did so many seasons previously. LET’S GO PENS!!!

Amazing what a change of coach and philosophy can do.
We haven’t even talked about Broz. Also, Zonnon and Horcoff and more still in the system.
I really don't mind the results, though winning is really nice, the Pens are legitimately fun to watch for the fans.
The 1st goal..GARLANDS GOAL…was a WOW GOAL…hes flying in..gives himself the green light..early in the game..& RIPS IT!!!!
Sidney goal…was GREAT..he sees it & launches…moves to open ice…the TORQUE on his stick..BOOM
