Admittedly it is only 7 games, but maybe enough evidence that this team had underachieved, considering it's talent level, primarily because Mike Sullivan's message and methods had gotten stale. Is Muse is rejuvenating tonic the Pens so desperately needed? Looks that way so far…
I for one was not someone who wrote off this team. Take some heat down here in VA from Craps fans. I’m enjoying watching the young guys mix in with our veterans, it’s been fun. Hopefully it continues. Let’s go! ⬛️🟨🐧
First big test of the year for us in Florida. They’re also flying back after a hard fought win against Boston last night. Hopefully we’re up for it!
The most exciting development, so far, is above average play from young players–making a difference now and building for the future!

Dubas did so many podcast appearances where he said, “we aren’t tanking” and everyone scoffed. Now national media is bending over backwards to put an asterisk next to every Pens win. Oh The Rangers weren’t ready, The Islanders aren’t good, LA is struggling, The Sharks aren’t good, The Canucks were injured… At what point will media members say, “You know what? We based all of our assumptions on old information and maybe the Pens are just a different team now.”?

DK – I'm sure Dubas' mission of getting this team younger and competitive for the long-term is still his main focus, but if the Pens are in a playoff position come the deadline and Dubas gets the offer(s) he's wanted for either Rakell, Rust or Karlsson, would he be crazy at this point to pull the trigger?
Good morning DK & Taylor, I hope the both of you are well. DK, I loved the J1Q question and your answer. Geno seems to start seasons hot, whether its excitement of playing again or what have you he just seems to be in Beast mode from the start. Now, to add a tid bit to your answer, if Geno wants a contract for another year I believe we'll see him more motivated than ever this year. So, when he typically cools off, game 20-25 or so, we'll see this year.
Now our Captain……why oh why does it seem that Sid is the opposite? He seems to start slow, maybe not so far 8 points in 7 games, but from what Ive watched the last few years Sid seems to shift to another gear with 20-25 games left in the year where he'll go on this tear, put the Pens on his back and make this unbelievable drive to make the playoffs! Now, we've come just short twice, while last year we missed by quite a few points. Why do you think that is? It can't just be because he wants to make the playoffs? If that was the case play better earlier on, score & assist on a few more, and win a few more games? Any thoughts DK? Blessings always, Victor from Canada 🇨🇦
Sully was the perfect coach for a few years. But it's becoming more and more obvious that Sully drug this team down for soo long.

Hey Dejan, i think what we’re seeing from Geno is some good old fashioned motivation. I think the winning has put hope into all the vets. Long may that continue
Looks like Brazeau is proving to be more than just "a big frame and nothing else." Might be worth keeping that in mind before claiming victory for being right next time.

No need to plan any parades, pencil in a playoff spot or preorder a McKenna jersey. I'm just enjoying this season. It's FUN. I get to see the Penguins play hard and care. I see younger players with legitimate talent and star players that are not washed. Oh..and we've won 5 out of 7. What else could I wish for?
We need a #1 LD, and it's not going to be cheap. We need it now, we need it in the future. Owen Power and Bowen Byram are over there languishing in Buffalo. Anaheim has a logjam of good young defensemen. Dubas's #1 job should be adding that crucial piece, and ideally without giving up something very painful to lose.

Great call, DK. I still hate Ryan Shea being in the lineup, and Owen Pickering wasting away in WB/S…But we are winning, and you can't argue with results.
Who does Rutger replace when he's healthy, and where does he fit without messing up all that is going right?
What's wrong with the Penguins being 5-2? I guess you like being miserable. Take that attitude somewhere else, maybe San Jose or Calgary better suits you.
