The Colorado Avalanche play an incredibly sloppy and weird game that they manage to drag to OT but can’t overcome the Mammoth. Goals from Makar, Drury, and Necas left them one short.

Landys goal revoked was a bad call. It’s not offside if the defender gives up the puck and it wasn’t clear enough that Nuke touched it before zone entry. Should’ve been 4-3 avs but the refs hating Denver teams continues post broncos this week
Couldn't get a break,or a call,& we struggle with this team-even when we beat them. Sucks that Utah got a win they kinda didn't deserve-but so did we when we played them here. I'll take the tie for us…only the AVS,& Vegas still don't have a REAL loss now. So much better to lose that game in OT… would've been an extremely frustrating regulation loss.
Nate is the laziest player in all the nhl in OT. Turns it over then coasts back into the zone didn't move his skates at all
What makes the reverse of the goal so bad is that the verbiage used means that if I look at the opposing player and make a break towards them in an attempt to play defense, that can be interpreted as "causing them" to play the puck back into the zone, thus making it an offsides. My sincere hope is that this is just a horribly blown reversal that does not become a precedent in the league, cuz if it does, then just remove that clause from the rule book, cuz then we can't complain THAT much about it.
Also, it does beg the question: is there no clause, when it comes to challenging, that there needs to be a clearly, definitive action that is contrary to the original ruling like in every other sport?
Someone had a large bet on Utah…
they may as well have called that goal back for too many men, it would have made just as much sense.
While I wish that the Avs would play great all the time, have everything go their way, and win every game – you can’t win them all, and I’m glad they at least got a point out of this. Although I wonder what the outcome of a game like this would’ve been for this team at this point last season. IMO, this team last year would’ve lost that game 4-2…or at the least they wouldn’t have forced OT. I’ll take the point, learn from this game, and move on to the next one.
I just don't understand how changing players are on the ice for offside considerations, but not on the ice for too many men considerations.
I get that's what the league has decided, but it makes no sense.
Storm damaged our bedroom, tomorrow may be finding out we can't go back home, so watched this weird fucking game in essentially a storage room with a make shift bed and a laptop (the lucky plushie was with us too at least) and it made an altogether weird game weirder, on top of being so damn tired as ESPN delayed and delayed and delayed the puck drop.
Honestly can barely even remember most of yesterday already it was just constan panic mode, but realllllllly enjoyed this post game pod just now, Bailey truly does bring so fucking much and is a perfect I guess straight man to Rudo's explosive "WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT NHL?!" moments.
Necas contract offer got smaller with that game.
