I'm not just chalking that up to Tampa suddenly deciding to play hard. Wings could've come out in the third with the urgency to put the game out of reach, or used the PP to do that. Instead they were playing Lalonde hockey.
Bernard Docker should be in the lineup every night. Kasper hasnβt been a factor all year and I think the wings has the two softest checking big men in the league. I hate to see one of the wings big softies get a bruise throwing a hard Dallas Drake type check. Just think if Rasmussen had the heart of a Dallas Drake and his grind this team would be scary to play.
One thing the wings are going to have a problem with this year is their D men getting cleared out in front of their own goal. Thatβs what happen on the lighting goal.
Max Plante is a beast right now, 10 points in 5 games! #1 underrated prospect period!!! Can't wait for him to join Detroit in a few years. Detroit Red Wings future line-up 2029-2030:
Finnie Larkin Raymond Plante Kasper MBN Bear Danielson Buchelnikov or Genborg Lombardi Soderblom Kiiskinen Mazur
Buium Seider Edvidsson ASP Johansson Johansson Wallinder
Suck Gibby didnβt get the shutout but if are goalies can keep playing crazy like this for the rest of the season we will be in a wild card spot or the 3 or 2nd spot in are division.
Watching the first game it was pretty clear it wasn't gibson's fault, but its nice to see him step up and save the game, although its concerning we've had to have our goalie bail us out a couple of times now. Its encouraging that our goalies were able to do it though.
The wings may be winning games, but it looks like we still have a lot of work to tighten up our game. Which hopefully means we get even better. I can hope right?
I have this gut feeling that Yzerman is secretly looking for a 'game changer' to be signed before the deadline… remember when Shanahan showed up? Just a hunch.

Gibby stood on his head. LGRW
He shoots he scores! π¨
GIBBAY!
Lets go ASP
I was so happy for Gibson. He had a ton of pressure on him, and he delivered big. That had to feel good to hear the "Gibby" chants.
Sick lid

Gibson deserved a shutout. Detroit wilted pretty hard in that third period, and that's pretty concerning.
My sneaky 11th round fantasy pick. Looking slick
Hey, John Gibson won.
Letβs go baby! ASPβs first goal, Gibsonβs first win, Larks with the OT winner. Hell yea LGRW!!!!!
This is what Wings hockey is supposed to look like.
