Brady Tkachuk, the captain and heartbeat of the Ottawa Senators, will miss 6–8 weeks after undergoing surgery on his right thumb. This is a massive blow to the Sens lineup, and he won’t be back until late November at the earliest.
What does this mean for the Senators’ season? Can Ottawa survive without their leader, or is it time for Wally to hit the panic button? We’ll break down how the Sens move forward, who needs to step up, and whether the team can stay in the playoff race while Tkachuk recovers.

Zertterlund was benched for the last like 5 min and ot…. no one's talking about that…
Brent work on the audio the two of you are way to quiet
Low key imo, Graeme asks the best quality media questions CONSISTENTLY 👏👏👏 and 😍😍
I enjoyed this episode so much more than usual.
Yeah Zetterlund needs to be off the top line, put batherson there and Zetterlund with cousins
Glad we got the win… but the PK needs serious work
I hate. When watching the our Sens highlights on Sportsnet, and an add comes up promoting the Sens. Drives me nuts. Great show, boys!
I have a old iPhone thought it was Calgary for a second
If you paid attention last season (Grahme also point it out), they were so slow against teams that played on the rush.
So instead of addressing that, Staois resigned a slow vet in Giroux, gave Perron a 2 year contract, sign an aging vet in eller and macdermitt.
The team got slower and it shows…
Stutzle has been horrible. Don't think this kid is going to be the superstar we want him to be. He lacks hockey IQ and can't finish
Levi. What was the point of him playing vs Buffalo. If he won, no big deal. when he lost, Not good. Play a good team and losses, no big deal. Bad on Green to start levi's season like that.
KAREL RACHUNEKKKKKKK ❤
trade zetterland back to sharks for Tofoili
The difference I find with Jenny and DB is that Jensen is working hard so you know he'll get there eventually but right now, he's falling way short, and I can't say the same for Bath. Being offside multiple times in a game isn't injury related. His drop pass in the buffalo game that iced the game (already dead in the water) isn't because he missed training camp. If he was losing board battles, or his passes weren't connecting that's one thing, but his head isn't in the game yet and I don't like it as a fan because DB has always had B-Game issues. Ok, so he's not ripping the puck or being the power forward he keeps getting tapped to be, what's the other gear? It's more no show from the guy that proves his contract is properly evaluated — he's already got an apple but anyone watching the games will tell you he's had no impact on these games. I'm an OG Batherson hater though so take that all with a grain of salt. Hope he absolutely labels a puck on the PP this saturday.
Timmy does feel like he's putting the entire weight of the team on his shoulders and I don't know who is asking him to do that — lot of self pressure to be the team's superstar. I have full confidence that he's going to find the balance though. His defensive game has improved so much. Pinto, Sanderson, and Stutzle out there for the 3v3 was sick — felt like you could trust every one of them. He's laying the body, he's winning his faceoffs, I think it's just a matter of time before he starts burying those amazing chances multiple times in a game. He's one of the guys who is completely committed to the strategy though and I wish we saw a couple more selfish plays where he just uses his insane speed to drive the net. Him and Sandy could do that once per period and I'd be happy.
Othman ✔️ trade 3 or 72..bring up 58
Zetterlund isnt an impact player unfortunately
Zetterbum caused 3rd goal by drawing useless penalty in Ozone
We need more consistency out of Tim Stutzle. We know he's Timmy superstar…..but is he….a superstar?
Give the jersey to Graham. Have him wear it once in awhile on the pod 🎉 GSG
Formenton was the answer to Timmy’s winger question
stop playing the diamond!!!!
This team's core simply doesn't have enough high end talent. It's depressing that we're going to spend the next 5-10 years being a bubble team and hoping to win a round or two.
Put Pinto 1C, move Timmy to the wing and put Greig 3C
I think the Sens need this injury to Brady to define themselves. You can’t just rely in one guy to carry you. We like to talk about depth, this is where we will see how deep we are.
We need Formenton
Greig is definitely the best option for LW top line. He's the closest player to the style that Tkachuk plays. Cause if you put Perron up there you then have 2 veterans with him and Giroux that top line would be too slow and Zetterlund hasn't been producing so 3rd line is good for him at the moment and keep Amadio at his normal spot RW 3rd line. People saying move Pinto to the top line why do that when he's been putting up points on that 3rd line like crazy I mean I get it but if you do that then then 3rd line is missing a big piece you need to have depth throughout the lineup and make sure there's at least 1 rock solid player on each line. As for defense all I can say is Jensen has been dissapointing and has been affecting Chabby's game move Spence up with Chabby and put Jensen bottom pair with Kleven if Jensen still looks bad scratch him and put Matinpalo in with Kleven
The problem with the diamond formation not only is it leaving so much time and space for the players to make plays but there is literally like no defense out front of the net except for 1 player that has to cover 2 guys on each side which makes no sense. Now if they only listened to me cause I've been posting this everywhere for them to use the wedge +1 PK strategy is the most effective but each player has to know their role and how it works. Cause the thing with this formation not only do you have the slot covered with 3 players in a triangle solidifying that part of the ice but that shape gives defense to both sides of the net where the goal line is you have the player top of the triangle still covering the slot and the 4th the +1 going out creating havoc to forecheck the puck. Top teams in the NHL use this strategy and have the best results. Make it happen! lol
Some of mistakes are in our control. Which means I dont think we are struggling because Nashville and Buffalo are necessarily better.
The Good (12,10) The Bad (70) & the Ugly (diamond PK & whoever is coaching it💩)
