Big wins against the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Edmonton Oilers on the backs of Dylan Larkin and John Gibson push the Wings to the top of the Eastern Conference. We also get some rookie first goals for Emmitt Finnie and Axel Sandin-Pellikka, but is the team’s performance sustainable?

This team is still playing a LOT of chip and chase. The difference is that we have players who can actually skate fast and are dedicated to fight for the puck. Once we get the 2nd wave (Danielson, Mazur) and get rid of the slow dump and loiter players (Copp, Compher) this team will be VERY VERY difficult to play against
Finnie is the best thing that could have happened to Larkin. He plays at Larkin's speed and is willing to do all the dirty work which frees up Larkin to snipe. And all you Larkin haters better admit that whatever your criticisms, Larkin is an absolute sniper.
Maybe a small red plastic wagon..
Not only is the penalty kill been awesome, they also are holding teams off the scoreboard at the end of the game when the goalie is pulled.
