Detroit looking good early in this season and they don't even have a fully healthy Raymond back yet and Kane is out. When they both are back I think we can keep this level of hockey going further into the season. Final test will be to avoid the final couple months crash out and burn that has plagued the team for the last few years but the new kids seem to have a different vibe going this time and I think we'll do it this year.
Finnie sure looks alot like a third Tkachuk brother out there! MASSIVE draft hit for the Wings! MBN and ASP have really started coming into their own the last two games too. The youth movement is upon us, and I thought Mazur and Danielson were likely to make the team going into camp. Yeah, sure, it's quite early in the season yet but the future is definitely looking bright for Detroit!

Five on five so much better for Wings so far this season. They seem to have a lot more energy and even when pegged back they keep pushing. I was a bit worried going into this one, especially with Kane out and Raymond a little banged up – but the team keep finding a way
i agree with Shannon on the wilson hit….stopped him in his tracks…but i sure hes got a concussion…his career and rest of his life are hanging on a thread now…
I know you're a Canucks fan, so thank you for your reasonable and rational take on the hit by Wilson on Chytil. I've seen some outrage elsewhere but it's stupid and emotional or it's by Caps haters. Wilson has done some stupid and dangerous stuff in the past but he has learned and made changes
Poor Chytil. This is why Drury traded Filip away. He’s a good player, great teammate but his concussion history is very very concerning.

It’s ok the Red Wings missed all those commercial breaks. Fanduel just runs the same 4-5 ads over and over again. Many are the same as what we had during the Detroit Tigers season. We know the ads by heart now.
As a Wings fan i am equally hyped right now as i am terrified for our annual march festivities (collapse of epic proportions) and the olympics.
A Raymond or Larkin injury at the olympics could be catastrophic.
As I said at the beginning of the '25-'26 season, there are 4, maybe 5 teams that people are going to sleep on, due to what Shannon refers to as "recency bias": Anaheim, Buffalo, Montreal, Chicago, and these Red Wings. I would include San Jose as well but they have several lingering problems that Grier can't or won't fix. Breaking from tradition, this rendition of the Wings plays a crisp and clean game of hockey, and they are hella fun to watch. Ditto the Habs. The great thing about the NHL is that they have structured the salary and revenue sharing such that parity is a thing – perhaps the best among the Big Four pro sports leagues…Bravo for that…The only problem that this league has is that the rogue teams – Florida, Washington – have an advantage due to limp officiating come playoff time. So the other teams will have to take care of that problem themselves. Which they will…In the meantime, it is a joy to watch games like this EDM-DET contest – although as Shannon noted – that it perversely may be bad for business…
Red Wings are finally competent and exciting to watch for the first time in over a decade. Please God make the playoffs.
not sure if every arena operates this way but at LCA you can't go back to your seat while the game is in play. Imagine going to the bathroom then waiting 11 minutes just for the gane to end.
Sorry hockey guy but I have to call you out about your comments on the Wilson hit. A bit of a bias opinion.
Even though yo said the hit was fine you thought it was late. The hit was not a late hit. Wilson was already in the motion of making the hit when he has possession of the puck. The puck left his stick but Wilson never took another stride into the hit. It was a glide into the hit. Its called continuation. And the hit was perfect. Hit him in the chest. There are 10 or more hits every game like this. Except Wilson hits harder than everyone else. Even Adam Foote thought the hit was clean.
Please don't use the excuse that the refs were able to see it in slow motion. You have that option too.
As for the game. I thought Lindgren had a rough first period. The first goal he sat back in the net and went down early giving Peterson alot of room. He needs to give himself a chance to make the save. That is what you get with a reflex goalie.
The 2nd goal could have gone either way. But I think the refs got it right. Lindgren didn't have the puck. He should have. And I thought the challenge was a bad decision. I think that decided the game.
I truly believe finnie tipped larkins second goal in and should get credit. The camera angle behind the net clearly shows it

You Forgot to mention the Caps Canucks game ! Spencer Carbery 1st Coach to achieve Coach of the year NHL, AHL and ECHL ! Also in that game the Canucks had played and won 3 Road games in less than 72 hours !

The teams that Detroit beat have not been at their best, but getting 10 points from that tough part of the schedule is huge. Could easily have gone 0 and 6.
