hope you feel better soon Doodle!
One target canucks could inquire, Jean Gabriel Pageau from islanders ? I don't think he cost a whole.lot
Sorry to hear that you are under the weather. Your health comes first. I am concerned about Chytil. Thanks for at least touching on Tage Thompson. Kent Johnson is good.
For other considerations Dilion Dube, Cal Foote, and Alex Formenton as being circulated but they are very controversial with the 2018 Team Canada case. Acquitted and likely cheap to sign. Allvin tends to go for cheaper contracts. I think out of those only Dube has a good track record if you look past the famous court case.
Do we have any prospects other than Cootes to play centre?
Zacha is a good choice and Nick Schmaltz is a pending UFA
Hope you guys enjoy the video.
I have made a Canucks News video as well

First of all, take care Jacob and thank you for what you do.
Here’s my issue with the hit on Chytil, it was predatory, allow me to explain why..
When Filip was in NY he had about 4 or 5 concussions, Washington is in the same division as NY, so it’s safe to say Tom knew of Filip’s concussion history. Now fast forward to Tom lining up Filip in the middle of the ice. Tom has time to see the play develop. He sees Filip gaining speed through 2 zones and has time to line him up. Now Tom has enough space and time to make a decision, he can either hold firm in his position and make contact or he can make a positional play which would require little to no contact and still run some effective interference. For me, the cognitive decision to make contact is intent to further injure a concussion prone player. So in that there should be appropriate discipline as that is predatory. Also late, which does not help his cause. I know this is gonna sound stupid but at this point and for the safety of concussed players can we not have some sort of indicator, like, I don’t know, a red helmet or stick or some tag on concussed players to indicate that they are exempt from excessive or unnecessary contact, kinda like in the minors with the red ‘STOP’ sign on the back of their jerseys. Like let’s be honest here, almost everybody in the league knows Chytil’s concussion record so one would think there should be no need for an indicator, so in that, if anyone is going out of their way to unnecessarily make contact then how is that not intent to injure. For instance, if anyone goes out of their way to make unnecessary contact to Crosby that would result in whiplash or head trauma, they should face discipline, because that’s intent to injure, hence predatory. And the reason why you don’t see Crosby getting hit like that anymore is because 1)respect 2)no one wants to be “that guy” and 3)everybody and their dog knows the league would come down extra hard in order to make an example out of it
It had been previously reported that Lekker and Chytil flew back to Vancouver – this is great news in respects to Chytil as flying and concussions don’t mix well, especially serious or recent concussions, like in the past 24 hours. To me this rules out a serious concussion, brain bleed, skull fracture and inflammation as cabin pressure due to altitude can have negative effects on the brain. I’m not a doctor, but I have had concussions, I’m not saying he definitely does or doesn’t, but they wouldn’t let me fly if I had a recent concussion, so in my experience he isn’t seriously concussed..but I guess we’ll wait and see as these types of injuries are ever evolving
It's not news nothing has happened
I think he means that he will now consider trading the 1st round pick or young players that he may have been reluctant to let go of before
zacha could be had during the summer. not so much now. naive of management to balk at the ask for him gambling that chytil would last the season.
You can't blame the GM. Who could have seen an injury to Chytil happen?
Ya. Thompson isnt going anywhere until he asks out or is a free agent. Massive pipe dream. Im wondering if hes meaning mctavish.. I know he signed. Ducks have 3 top centers. Might not be able to give all 3 the ice time they deserve. Maybe hes willing to pay a little more to make that trade happen. Willander I think is more on the table than he was before the start of the season. Canucks have a lot of depth on D. Probably wanted to make sure DPetey would keep up his strong play. Giving up willander before signing Hughes would be a little scary but you have to show Hughes youre willing to improve the team to make him want to stay. Im a bit torn.. I think theres a world where the team can be good if we trade Hughes and get a massive return. Losing him for nothing would be awful for the team. I think if the canucks won tbe lottery this year and got bedards cousin plus the trade package for Hughes would likely have nemec from the devils and a few other pieces. Its a very interesting situation thats going to play out in the next cpl years. Hate the idea of doing everything to make 1 guy happy and still risk losing him. But mctavish would only be a positive. But what's the cost.. sorry for the rambling. Haha feel better, buds
I kept saying over the summer rhat chytil has the skill to play 2C but theres 0 replacement if he goes down. They have to trade for another center. Luckily now they have several good prospects to trade as well
Dach & Pinto as short term/ pipe dream sorts and in last year of deal.
Pipe dream – Tage Thompson / would accept Morgan Geekie as #2

Interesting to see where it is 2 years from now…
Food for thought: The Canucks sent down Cootes just before this road trip and the onslaught of injuries. What would they have done with him now that they are truly desperate for centres..and would keeping him around in this roster mess be good or bad for him..Perhaps sending him down when they did was a blessing in disguise as they’re are not forced into an ill advised decision
Knowing this management… we will send Willander and our up coming 1st to Winnipeg for Toews. We have the most incompetent manager in the NHL.
I know this sounds crazy but I would love Matt barzal trade willander since he won't be ready for a couple years a first rounder another prospect and a player. To make salary work 😊
get well soon bro
Get well soon!
