Its on the fringe, but timmons looks like a real upgrade to Clifton. Have to give adams some credit, even though i hate doing it, ha
I enjoyed watching the sabres recently and I hope that continues
does Kevin Adams get any credit now for his offseason moves? not such a dummy after all?
How Buffalo would it be if Kevin Adams finally figures out how to build a roster and leaves for a city with palm trees?
Love these early mornings! Kris – any Prospect Avenue's in the future?
Yes Adams got fleeced in the Cozens for Norris trade (why would anyone trade for Norris with his injury historyđĄ) but I have to give A&K a lot of credit for their summer moves as the Timmins trade and Doan and Kesselring ( even though he hasnt played yet) look like great deals.
When A&K traded for Timmins , a few leafs fans texted me and told me that Timmins was a very underrated solid D man. Boy were they right, love his game- blocks shots and is physical.
Love Doan's work ethic and hustle too . His dad, Shane was known for this as well. The team is also playing a lot better with Benson back in the lineup. Love his work ethic and HEART! .Shouldnt UPL do a conditioning stint in Rochester for a week? Give Ellis a game against the make me laughs, aka leafs this weekend.
Having good goal tending helps make the D look good. They hare tethered.
Omg đ±. 3 pods in a week? Iâm in heaven. New subscriber fan from west coast.
Team has played 180 from first 3 games. The puck & bodies move during pp. Sammyâs been my whipping boy too, but heâs playing really well.
However, Kris. Regarding Adams, in the words of Winston Wolfe (Pulp Fiction) âletâs not start s**king each others d**ks just yet.
Example: Adams gave up a second for Timmons as well as Clifton just to dump salary. Just sayinâ.
Every fan wants to say that their team won a trade, but sometimes it's actually BOTH team who end up winning. Sometimes players just need a change of scenery, fresh start or a new system and coach. It happens in football all the time, where a player is essentially given up on by an organization and considered a bust, yet then goes on to flourish on another team.
Number 1 penalty killing without Greenway! Tuch and McLeod are the guysâŠGreenwya sucks
I'm actually excited for the game tonight which means they'll lose 5-0 because that's what happens every single time.
Peterka is a plus player on Sabres and Utah for his career, Benson is a career minus. You guys act like Peterka was -25-30 like Reinhart was on buffalo
Ryan Johnson is soft as mink fur, not a scoring D man or a tough playerâŠthat big Russian D man on Amerks is much better
I've been watching the Sabres for decades(yeah, I'm old) and there's always at least ONE Sabre I want OFF the team. This year, it's Krebs. I've seen enough. I'm done with him. I don't think he's a NHL forward. He's a top 6 template with no finish. He plays bottom 6 for us and that's just not his style. He tries hard. He has heart. I appreciate his efforts. He's just out of position and not good enough. I need him being a healthy scratch every night; an insurance policy.
Let's get Ostland in there at 3C right away. It's time to throw him in the pool and see if he sinks or swims. With Norris out, it's needed. And if this kid can't handle it, might be time to break the emergency glass and give Helenius a shot at 3C. I don't want to do that though. I'm sure he needs one more year in Rochester before he'll be ready for that.
Doan, is exactly what this team needs. If Utah said to me (and I was the GM)…"We want to trade you Peterka for Doan, straight up." I'd decline. I wouldn't even consider it, for a millisecond. They could throw in a 1st round pick and I'd tell them NO! Forget about Kesselring, we're already winning that trade. And I don't care if JJ goes on to out produce him point wise the rest of his career by a significant margin. Doan has hair on his nuts. Frankly, that's the easiest way to put it. He has SKILL, but he plays the game right. He forechecks, he attacks, he positions himself properly because he is willing to pay the price to get there. Things JJ would NEVER do. I liked JJ, but there is no need for him HERE. It's easier to find a Peterka in this league, than it is a Doan…these days.
You guys are right, Timmins is keeping us above water. One stupid penalty is about all I can critique on his play. Very minor.
This Canadians game is going to be tough but a metric for what chance they have to survive their injuries. Fairburn is right, they absolutely torched us in every game last year. There were games it looked like we were outplaying them and then it was like 5-1 or 6-1 on the scoreboard for THEM. Defense is going to have to play well tonight. I'm not sure it's going to be a fair match-up though. I'd like to see our complete defensive lineup with Kesselring in there, brought up to speed, but I guess we'll have to wait till later in the year for that.
Just be competitive tonight Sabres. Don't get blown out of the barn.
We'll see how they come out tonight. They always seem to play up or down to their opponent. They must dictate play, to every team. Then we can say they're back.
It took only 2 games for Kevyn to become a genius and Lindy to become coach of the yr. When they trade power for a #1 center and Kesselring returns, things will really start to ramp
Injuries to the Panthers? Nobody is shedding any tears. Sabres were without Kesselring and they lost Bryson in the 1st period and had to play the majority of the game with 5 "D". So: Be Good! Do Good! God Bless! Go Sabres!
Curious as to how many Canadian fans are NOT coming to Sabre games.
Not seen much about this so far but if you look Peterka is playing on third line with third line minutes in Utah. What does that say about him?
Will you be continuing with your Prospects Avenue series this season? The three 7th round picks this summer have had great starts to the season, particuarly Yevgeni Prokhorov who has a 1.49 GAA & 0.945 save percentage.
I feel like we need a new term for âtwo-wayâ player.
When I think âtwo-way,â I think Jochen Hecht. Solid, but replaceable.
What should a THREATENING two-way player be called?
Just want to know what to expect from a playerâs skill set
2:35 đ€Ł
Danforth and Bryson injured are both plusses.
Do Sabres have the speed to hang with the Habs đ€ If not hope they've sharpened their angles enough âïž
Ostlund isn't playing tonight, Dunne is listed on the 4th line, which makes sense if Montreal wants to get physical. I hope to see more of the way that they played the last 2 games tonight and consistently throughout the season. Power and Quinn have stepped up lately, they could be a big difference makers if they continue to contribute on a regular basis. Both have been easy targets to criticize the last 2 years. I'd like to know what they are going to do when UPL comes back? There's 4 goalies in Rochester, I would guess that Georgiev would be the odd man out, or do do they send Ratzlaff to Jacksonville?
