  1. Choosing the best of anything is absurd. It is even stupid. Who cares? And if you do, why? It is just a topic for conversation and most often, totally subjective. Fun maybe only because people can hear each other.

  2. Ted was a tuff cookie. Tell it like it is. If ya didn’t like it. That’s tuff. Thanks for your service🇺🇸 RIP Slugger ❤️🇺🇸

  3. Ted very humble. Stats no stats. Ted was the greatest hitter who ever lived, bar none. Had he played the 5 war years in his prime, and extrapolate the averages, he would have over 700 HRs.

  4. I went to Baseball Reference, and if you look at career adjusted OPS, the list of the top guys from his era (besides him) is identical to the ones he mentioned:

Mantle, Musial, Aaron, DiMaggio, Mays, Robinson.

  5. Michael Jordan never had a case to be the number 1 NBA player of all time. He never had a case to be the number 1 NBA shooting guard of all time. When he played in the NBA he never had a case to be the number 1 NBA player when he played in the NBA. When it comes to all the NBA players who ever played in the NBA, lots of NBA players are better than him. If you are going to rank NBA players, you shouldn't rank him that high. Lots of NBA players could beat him in a one on one game. He is not a perfect NBA player. He doesn't have the number 1 NBA statistics of all time. When it comes to most NBA statistics he is not in the top 14. He is not the number 1 NBA scorer of all time. He is the only overrated NBA hall of famer. He is the most overrated sports star of all time. And I could give you more examples of the ridiculous things that Michael Jordan fans bring up, but you get the point……………Also…………..Michael Jordan fans have lots of takes where they are factually wrong. They are not consistent. They make things up. They assume things. They don't do enough research. They move the goal post. They cherry pick things. They exaggerate things. They act like they're right but they don't show any proof that they're right. They make fun of you. They insult you. They get really negative. And there are more examples of things that have to do with Michael Jordan fans but you get the point………..Also……………Michael Jordan fans are the worst sports fans of all time. And they are the flat Earthers of the NBA world then……….Now…………if you disagree, you can go on my program and show me why you are right. If you want to go on email TheTelephoneUniverse@Gmail.Com.……….And now watch how most Michael Jordan fans will ignore all this. And they won't go on my program to show me how they're right on whatever they disagree on. And they will write something silly. And they will write something negative……………..And you know why they are like this?…………….Because they know that they have no proof that will prove that they are right in whatever they disagree on. They have too much pride to admit that they are wrong in anything. They have a desperate need to type something to make themselves feel like they won. They are not patient people. They don't want to know how any of there takes are questionable. They feel like it's easier for them to feel like they're winning when they type online. They feel more comfortable typing online. They are in love with Michael Jordan. They are influenced by the media about Michael Jordan. They are not educated on the NBA. They want to believe what they believe. They have negative personalities in general. And there are more examples of why they are like this but you get the point.

  6. What was really interesting here is that he threw in Frank Robinson. Think everybody now knows him as a manager, he’s sort of the forgotten great player because of course his career coincided perfectly with Mays and Aaron. But it was Robinson leading the NL in OPS three consecutive years from 60-62. Leading the league in intentional walks 4 consecutive years, getting a triple crown, being the only player to win an MVP in both leagues.

  7. Great interview. He mentions Robinson, Mays and my all time hero Hank Aaron. Robinson couldn't make the national league''s
all star line-up. It was Mays, Aaron and Clemente. Unbelievable talent back then. I'm 77 and can't watch the game anymore. They make too much money and can't hold a candle to the players Ted mentions.

  8. Ted’s being overly generous here, as was anyone who voted him best living player. Ted’s stats crush Joe’s, who of course benefited from a team that could afford the best players. Even during his 56-game hitting streak he hit .408 to Ted’s .412.

  9. The MLB logo was modeled after Ted Williams in the batters box. When you think hitting, you better think The Kid. That said, nobody hit for average, power, ran the bases and solidified his position like Mays. Ted mentions him amongst Aaron and Joltin' Joe (my personal favorite all time). But when all is said and done, when the players come jogging outta that field of dreams, you're a fool if you don't pick Willie first. If you don't, he'll probably laugh about it and make you pay for it later with high class and a few doubles. Why the hell not. 😄

  10. the thing that stands out here is one of the great baseball players of all time paying tribute to other brilliant players when in fact was anyone really better than Mr. Williams ?

  11. It is sometimes comical how the truly great go out of their way to say "well, these other guys…"

Not that the other guys don't deserve to be honored, but his reluctance to accept that he was the greatest hitter is charming.

  12. That just changed my life! It made me respect Teddy "Baseball" more than I did. "Williams, Mayes, Ruth, Schmidt, Wagner, Hornsby, Gehrig, Bench, and Ohtani.

  13. On one bombing run in his Panther, Williams found himself against 7 Mig fighters and shot one down and got out with his plane and life. John Glen. his wingman. called him the best aviator he had seen.

  14. Ted seemed to be a perfectionist and they can be "prickly" at times with others who are not perfectionist. Or at least impatient with others who don't strive for perfection. As a baseball manager. I suspect he was frustrated with players who were not perfectionist.

  15. I recall reading that Ted Williams eyesight was extraordinary: he could see the seams on the baseball after it left the pitcher's hand.
