Well, it's done. ā How do we feel? š¤ I have concerns… I'm mostly happy š but I have some concerns that I think are VERY VALID š¬ and quite frankly… scare me a little. š
Am I overthinking it? š§ Is it really that easy to replicate what Armia and Dvorak do? I don't think so ā Dvorak was the only player on the team who could win a faceoff if his life depended on it. šÆš¤·āā
Anyway ā let me know what you think in the comments. š

We got much younger and much better in my opinionā¦depth is an issue but I lime the moves. Armia I love but he can also check out during gamesā¦give the younglings an opp and lets move on!
I think Montreal Canadiens needs to replace the coach ASAP
Are we really gonna pretend to be sad seeing dvo and armia gone? Man people have such short memories lol We've been wishing for this for at least 2 years now. Can we not
Canadiens should at least trade Armia, Dvorak, and Primeau for future considerations
Can Slaf start to play center?
I miss none of them. They are a better team than they were last year.
Armia leaving hurts. But you eventually need to make room for younger players to allow to make the jump. We replaced Armia wuth Bolduc for the short future. Bolduc being already playing top 6 winger with St-Louis. I think we came out of that a win.
Dvorak leaving makes us weaker at center, but how much? He only really played well for the like the last 20 games of the regular season. We'll miss his PK and face off prowesses. Admittedly, we need to fill his hole. But we have Dach, Newhook, Kapanen, Beck to try out.
Primeau needed a new start. He clearly folded under pressure, both in the NHL and the AHL. I mean the guy was getting replaced by Fowler, a rookie with no games played in the AHL for the playoffs. We got Kahkonen, the goalie that stone walled Laval. I think we came out of that with a win.
We couldn't solve the 2C issue yet. We might but I don't think we will this off-season. Who knows? We got younger, we need a bit more veteran presence. But at least, some of our younger players aren't soo green anymore. Marco D'Amico was saying there were works being done for Kyrou and we were willing to give a good return too. But it wasn't enough until Kyrou's NMC kicked in. So, KH is working on it.
I think we made out like bandits with Bolduc and especially Dobson. We at least heavily strengthened our defence, which was an issue.
We're a playoff team, just not a deep run in the playoffs team.
Primeau had his chances in the NHL. Some guys are just destined for the minors and he's one of them.
Oh yeah! We have Laine. Forgot about him for a bit.
Felicitations!!
we need a different winger for demi who will improve dachs playing & raise the talent for the whole second line ~ not laine ~
laine seems like the most opposite / worse winger to play with ivan ~ i just cant see it ~
Been waiting for an opinion on this from Whiskey.
Armia hurts me. I am JUST a fan so I tend to get a little more protective than I should be where I just want the players to be able to be better. A fan has different emotions than a businessman. The Habs are about the only purely emotional content I can talk about in wishes and pisses.
I WANTED Armia, and I wanted Pizetta. But when you have the Calder guy…objectively what can you really say?
Demidov absolutely should not be wrecked. Give him to Gally on the third and give him extra energy by giving him #1 power play time.
Great video !
Martin St-Louis does not want three righties on the same line. Evans cannot play with Anderson and Gallagher for that reason. It will be Newhook, or Anderson and Gallagher will be split up.
Bolduc may also take Laine's spot on the 2nd line. Bolduc, Dach and Demidov sounds like a well-balanced line. Bolduc can forecheck, something Laine can't do.
I'm kind of glad that Canadiens picked up Bolduc. I don't mind that they traded Maillioux for him, I didn't really care for the fact that Bergevin got desperate to draft him, and he had a stigma on him. Now Logan is someone else's problem. I knew One Man Armia was going to be gone at the end of the season, so I've had a lot of time to come to terms with it. I hope that all of the people who left do well.
We did not replace Dvorak nor Armia we replace Heineman by Bolduc and Pezzetta by Blais Good bye Armia(LAK), Pezzetta(TOR), Dvorak(PHI), Mailloux(STL) ,Heineman (NYI), Primeau(CAR), Rafael Harvey-Pinard, (PIT) Alex BarrƩ-Boulet (Europe). We kept Laine, Dach, Newhook. NExt year we might loose Hutson and Matheson, A. Xhekaj.
We had to trim the fat, the only real loss I think is Emil but we got an incredible return for him so thatās ok.
I hope we can land a trade for a 2C then the team will be primed and ready to take another run at a wild card spot.
Go Habs Go!
Congrats on getting married, hope you got her to sign a pre-nuptial, cause if not, she owns half of this channel!
Goodday from Beresford!!!
Caufield/Suzuki/Slaf
Dimidov/Dach/Bolduc
Newhook/Evens/Laine
Gallagher/Kapanen/Anderson
Hutson/Carrier
Dobson/Guhle
Matheson/Struble/Xhekaj
Congratulations on the wedding!!
Congratulations on the nuptials!
Wishing you and the missus many, many years of overtimes in the future!
Those who know knew that both Mailloux and Primeau were both heading out the door.
Primeau would not be satisfied with a role as permanent backup in Laval. The Habs have a group of potential goalies in their network. Fowler deciding to make the move to the big leagues meant a space had to be opened up for him in Laval and Dobes' promotion to 2nd goalie for the Habs meant that Primeau went from #2 to #4. Add to it the fact that Volokhin is waiting in the shadows (KHL).
Kent Hughs and Jeff Gorton are getting rid of Mark Bergevin horrible decisions.
I think Primeau wasn't happy… I think that he wanted to move on.
So much for my new Emile heinenan Montreal Canadian hockey jersey:(
bolduc will be on the second line, laine on the fourth.
I THINK…. and I'm just thinking out loud. Well, not out loud, but in text on YouTube, that…
KENT HUGHES-JEFF GORTON are biding their time.
Everyone is focusing on the opening day roster, and filling/fixing gaps and holes with decent to perfect players…etc. Especially at the 2C position. BUT, when there is nothing there available for an affordable price, there is nothing you can do. So what did he do? He nicely stocked up on defensive players, minus Mailloux. But the Mailloux trade is exactly what I'm talking about and comparing to what HUGHES has hopefully in store down the road. OK, I'm rambling here, as usual.
IF let's say, a contending team suddenly gets hit with an injury or two on the defence, this is where HUGHES could strike! Offer up one of his proven defensemen for a hot-young center, while the other team is desperate and has a young player like that, they can swing the other way, as much as they don't like it? I think it's a very possible scenario. And one that could help bring in a HUGE piece of the puzzle.
Just look at the under-the-radar Max Pacioretty trade that NO ONE at the time would have guessed in their wildest dreams brought in one of the best 1st line young centers in the league and the cornerstone and captain of the team.
Who's to say this lightning won't strike again?
But I'm just being hopeful.
At the end of the day, itās July 2 when you did this. Iām reserving judgement until pre season earliest. Cheers
Congrats on the wedding thatās the maritimes way small and missy family wedding
Kakhonen can at least understand what a backup role is
Primeau needs to be in net otherwise he gets cold š„¶
I created a new account just to sub
Filling the cap with Dvorak at 5.4š
Liked him but he's not worth that kind of money
The problem with Mailoux is thereās no space for him to develop. With Hutson and Dobson and somewhat Matheson, he just wouldnāt get the time. All the best to him, but Iām happy with the trade.
Primeau can't finish. It seems he has problems when it comes to very important games..
You put Laine on the third with Gally and Anderson.
Primeau needed to a new start and Iām pretty sure he wanted to leave the Habs
Congratulations on your matrimony!
Bolduc is going to switch Laine dowm to 3rd line minutes 5 on 5.
Laine is going to win games on the PP, thatās been proven.
We will sell him high if he doesnāt have an early season ending injury.
We have no reason to trade him unless sits for a 2C.
So basically heās going to win us games as his trade value goes up.
