The Minnesota Wild improved to 2-1 after a 4-3 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Monday night at Grand Casino Arena. The Wild led 3-0 after 1 period on the strength of Power Play goals by Jared Spurgeon, Kirill Kaprizov, and Matt Boldy. But the Kings answered back with 3 goals in the 3rd period from Kevin Fiala, Quinton Byfield and Adrian Kempe. After the Wild killed off a penalty in Overtime, Jesper Wallstedt made 4 saves in the shootout and Marco Rossi scored to win it for the Wild. The Wild will head to Dallas for their next game Tuesday.

Wild avoid the complete collapse. Jesper was serviceable……Dallas North Stars tonight so no rest for the wicked……..I expect no lineup changes…..Per Russo, Haight was sent to Iowa and Jones was recalled. He alluded to, or inquired on, whether that was going to happen with Jiricek too. It's to keep Haight playing hockey instead of sitting in a press box. If Jiricek is going to be the 7th man it's probably best to send him to Iowa too.
Last night is the start for Edmonton fans asking why in the hell didn’t we draft him. On the shootout he was so square to the puck against outstanding shooters, what a one / two tandom with gusty.
